I've come to the conclusion that UNGER microwipes are totally crap! They just don't work & leave masses of fibers behind. The ettore ones are the same. WCW ones are quite good & the best I've ever used are cleantech's own. I want to replace my scrims with them so will need quite a few but I'me fed up of wasting money on crap!
Has anyones used PARAGON microfibers? They manufacture a specific glass cleaning cloth.

I have unger microfibres but they dont dry the window well as they dont hold enough water..
So i use them mainly as a sill wipe.
Ive started using the blue "Huk" towels, they are great for detailing as half the size of grade a scrims and hold more water. But they do leave a few fibres..
Im sticking with them cos i dont know what else is worth trying. But since im mainly wfp its not totally essential.

I found the same thing with the unger and ettore. I now use syr ones, i find them good, and cost wise they are pretty reasonable.

Just to add,I want them for detailing, not glass cleaning.

I bought them from a local cleaning supply shop, but i did a search on the net and there was a guy on ebay selling them as well.
But these are exactly the same ones i have.

I use unger because i was fed up with scrims leaving fibres behind on the 1st few jobs. I think they are a great improvement although i agree that mine aren't very absorbant. I get a few fibres left behind but very little.
I'll try cleantech ones unless a better idea crops up.

Thanks, I want some 40x40's for sill cloths but want the standard 80x60's for detailing. They are a good price mind, will have a better look round that site later. cheers.

Welcome. I looked to see if i could find some larger ones, but i had no luck. I don't do alot of traditional now so i get by with them. As i say, for the price, it may be worth just giving them a go.

I have 20 paragon ones they came from wcw, I also have some Soap National ones they are almost identical

We use Unger and SYR.
Unger are best but SYR good too.
We never clean class without using an A grade scrimm for a last wipe over.

I left a little mark with my squeegee today & just wiped it with my finger in the unger cloth & man, it looked like I'd spat straw at the window!! They have been washed at least a dozen times too WITHOUT softner.

Another thing that I'd like confirmed is are these cloths usable on both sides? The cleantech ones are as both sides are almost identicle but I notice on others that one side is smooth & the other ridged? Anyone know?

we have used wcw blue ones for 2 years now and agree with other comments on the unger ones being abit crappy in leaving bits behind.BUT boil wash them at 90 degs and I'm sure that you will get a massive improvement as I did.
read the label it needs 90 degs and it will help cheers

I always use scrim for detailing, microfibre is just for
cleaning up the water and suds along the bottom of frame
and sill.

I wonder just how 'different' all these microfibres are? I'm talking about the flat weave ones of course.
I also wonder just how many 'different' manufacturers of these cloths there are?? Mmm?
I've used the Unger ones, found them great, way better than scrim for detailing and like all micro's they can be used straight out of the packet.
Boil wash?
What the hell for? We wash ours on a cool wash, they come out clean, albeit with a few stains on now and again.
Bits left behind? Fibres and so on? Not the remotest of problems in that respect, if you are getting bits of fluff or fibres left behind then god only knows what you are doing wrong because I can use them fairly damp to dry as a bone and not have a problem.
scrim has always been an effective cloth, but not in the same league as the new microfibres, they can leave no end of fluff behind, especially if used bone dry.
Currently I use the WCW ones, for no other reason than they are reasonably priced, I find them no different in use than the Unger ones.
I have no comment to make on other makes...oh, I lie, I've used the Ettorre ones and they are fine too, and I always use the flat weave variety.
if used for full on cleaning other than just detailing then I use a hand sprayer filled with pure water and something like a 1:10 dilution of isopropanol..(or is that 10:1?? ???).way, way better than any propitiatory spray
I started over 26 years ago using leathers on plate glass windows and could do a job as good as a squeegee...but I move with the times...always have ;)

Using scrim in this heat can be a total nightmare is facing the sun, I swopped to micro's to stop this. Have used unger and they do take getting used to to say the least, I got some other ones from a supplier for 60p they are quarter of the size of unger ones, and they work a treat, I never get a problem with them and they suck the water off, more so than the unger ones.
Will have to see if they have anything on the label

i have always used soap nationals blue microfibre, its so good i use it for everything ever cleaning my glass and drying the dishes

Don't wash microfibre cloths using a softener in the wash. I have no problems with Unger large green microfibre cloths.

scrims ona warm day facing the sun are a nightmare. Bought myself some micros from costco and they even leave fibres

After a tip from a guy on another forum i went to lidl and bought some microfibre floor clothes. A good size, they came in a blue and orange box and the cloth itself is orange. 2 in a box for 1.99. Loads better than unger microfibre and grade a scrim. Still using the original batch after a year and still think they are fantastic. Cant remember the name but they are in lidl.

my label says 90 degs which is a boil wash ??
Oh and bytheway Ian ettorre one are the worst ever!!! for bits lol all mine went in the bin ha!!
