I used tfr on conroof and gutters and upvc the other day was so good it gave me the idea to use it on really bad first clean windows. So today I had a go, it sped the whole job up loads but when they dried all the window had streaks all over them that would not come off even with a scrim. I didnt notice the marks before but the windows were quite dirty. I thought it may have been the tfr. Ive never had any problems with it before. So Is this common Knowledge, have I done something stupid? Has anyone else had any problems or do you think its just a coincidence? Any ideas? ???

did it have black seals? did the black oild from the seals come off onto your scrim, or onto the white pvc?
If so, likely to be oil run.

No some of the windows were wooden some were fake wood upvc. The marks were on the glass like they had thompsons water seal runs all over.

did you let the tfr dry on the glass? If so that's your problem, I did it once with leaded windows and it left them in a right state, it did come off eventually :o

should have used ecover, you dont get that problem, they come up crystal clear

When i first used tfr a few years back, i did the same thing on a conservatory, let the tfr dry and the glass was terrible. I had to clean the glass with an applicator, then water fed poled again afterwards. The ecover truck wash that Alex sells is good.
