Title: Prochem Comanche - anygood?
Post by: Cleancut on May 29, 2009, 12:53:31 am
Hi people,

Can anyone help and advise if they have experience of or any info on the 'Prochem Comanche'  ??? (not the re-introduced model in 2008)  I'm buying one tomorrow and really should have asked this question earlier ::) it'll be my first machine......sadly not got a budget to get a ninja so think I'm getting a good deal for the comanche for £400 with twin jet wand and heater box but still hope im not making a mistake!  ???

Appreciate if people can allay my fears or confirm them please  ;D

Many Thanks,

Scott

Hi Cleancut:

My first machine was a commanche. It's a decent first machine although imho it does lack power somewhat with its 2x2 stage vacs.

However I still have mine and have since upgraded it to 2x3 stage vacs.

Ask the seller what the spec is (You never know he may have upgraded it) and what hours are on the vacs.

£400 sounds reasonable for what you're getting and the Commanche looks "Easy on the eye".

Hope this helps

Hi Cleancut
My first machine was a commanche. I always found it to be fine on most jobs but mine was a little bit dodgy on the electrical front. Don't know if I was unlucky or whether this was common for this model. Open it up and check its all tidy inside.
Regards
Tim

Hi Will & Timmy boy,

Thanks for your replies....it's good to know u guys have started out with them,  :)  sounds like a good machine to start with!!

I did worry about only being 2x2 stage vacs but i've been and got it today and good thing the guy owns a shop and has put a new vac pump in so inside looked pretty good considering its age and was still only 2x2.  Was given a demonstration, the extraction/suction performance seemed good and gave a professional finish which is what im after!!

Again thanks guys for your input, it has helped allay my fears!! nice one.
