Can anyone please reccomend a grout sealer and where to buy it?
-
I use Aquamix - they have a spray on sealer that's good and easy to apply. I usually get it from Trades Direct but it looks like they might be out of stock as it's currently not listed. Might be worth giving them a ring. http://www.trades-direct.co.uk/modules/shop/products.asp?catid=21

thanks for that, I see 'sealers choice gold' can also be used for grout but its £32 for a litre or £101 for 3 litres, its expensive stuff!

I take it they are ceramic tiles and you only want to seal the grout? try www.tradetiler.co.uk they do Aqua mix.

Yes ceramic.

You could use the Aquamix Penetrating Sealer - it's more or less the exact same stuff as their grout sealer - just a different label. The Sealers Choice is premium stuff, 10 years cover - overkill for a standard grout sealing job.

yes ok, and alot cheaper! thanks for the help guys.
Alltec do a injectamate or a grout stick which would you reccomend for applying?

Never tried the grout stick, so couldn't say. I use a Stanley paint pad (not the cheap ones) and use the edge on grout. You can get into the recesses easy with it. And when it's used you just cut off the edge and you've a fresh edge for the next job. You can get a few applications out of one pad then. Just make sure you are wiping the tiles down a couple of minutes after each grout joint has been done (but you probably know that anyway).
The good thing about Aquamix Sealers is that they are water based polymers (apart from Ultra Solv) and don't smell the way solvents do, which is really beneficial in enclosed spaces like bathrooms.
