just had a call from one of my long standing customers, who is always very polite and we never have a problem with
" hello Andy look we have had to have our windows painted again and its only been two years since we had them done last time ,
I think it must be all that water, so would it be alright if you now clean them every other month and if i costs me more then that will be fine "
what planet are they on ::)
these are the original windows put in in the 70s , and she lives in a seaside town with a south facing rear garden , And my water is damaging her paint work ?????
As i said
Bizarre

A couple of mine have said "the decorator says the pure water method rots the frames, and makes them need repainting more often."

I tell all my customers it's hot water that does it. Doesn't happen with cold. ;)

I say its the painter not rubbing the paintwork down properly in the first place.
Then its this new type of paint they use..........
Then its the wrong type of brush...........
I always get in first... :) :)

I have noticed how wfp alledgedly accelerates the paint stripping on some wooden frames.
I can sympathise with your bizarre customer's request to clean less frequently to lengthen the duration until their next external paint of their wooden window frames.
They are cost cutting in these present economical times ahead (budgeting on their larger bills) and have been fair in mentioning that they'll pay a reasonable extra price for a twice less frequent clean duration.

Its the "one coat" paint they use. No wonder it doesnt last...did i mention ive done painting in the past ;D
