Title: What to use to get that nice New Leather smell?

I dont do a lot of leather cleaning, but I have a possible leather job next week.

One thing that leather cleaning lacks for me is that nice new leather smell that valeters seem to be able to get if you have leather in a car cleaned.

My question is, does anyone know of a solution, either spray or liquid that leaves the customer with that lovely nice new leather fragrance?

LTT doe a spray.
Not used it myself, but you dont apply to the leather direct, just a squidgy little bit underneath.
On their site are retail and trade prices (need to register) - big big difference.

Generally speaking aromas or fragrances are oil based products and as cleaners and/or protectors for leather should be water based the 2 don't mix that is why fragrances are not added to our cleaners etc.

Oils should not be used on todays modern leathers (even as part of another product) as they can cause residues on the surface that will attract more dirt (something you are trying to avoid).

Also not everyone actually likes the smell of leather and if you have a separate aroma that can be used independently then you have the choice to use it or not.  They also last a lot longer if used as an essence or aroma rather than part of an applied product.

The 'smell' of leather is a strange subject as it is very subjective - the 'smell' actually comes from the chemicals used during the tanning process and this will vary from tannery to tannery.  The old original 'smell of leather' is probably long gone as it will have been a particular mix of chemicals, water etc used at one particular tannery at one particular time.

The leather aroma and leather essence we supply is used by many detailers and the auto industry in general to put back that new leather smell in car interiors and can be equally applied in household situations where the smell of leather will give the customer that feeling of 'just cleaned'.
