Skin Rice a Pull Wouldn't the Off Pudding of - re-arrange. ;D
-
thought as much. dagnam it!
it seems i am searching for the holy grail of vans...cheap, clean, low miles, reasonable engine!
:'(
-
i ve got an 06 plate last of the old shape. It pulls fine with a 650 tank in.It as the power to over take on back road.
-
you cant chip then to give you 110bhp
-
i have a 75ps and it pulls a 1000 litre tank all day everyday. my vivaro is a 100ps and its fast when empty. the tranny is solid and a good work horse.
transits all day long!!
-
I have an 04 reg, pulling power is superb,I have a 500 litre Pure Freedom system installed with ladders, barrells for trolly etc. and pulls like it's empty, honestly I don't feel the weight at all,

Wouldn't Pull the Skin off of a Rice Pudding ;D
Is the build quality of Transits anygood? All the 3 years old and over I see are rusting around the arches etc..
What are the Traffic type vans like build quality wise? I know many have drive train issues thou.
-
doing my nut in this. been searching for a few weeks now, keep changing my mind, older vw transporter.....no, no, swb citroen relay....no, no, transit, yes, transit, no no noooooo...transporter...grrrrr!!
got up to 3k to spend, and need to get a 650l tank in it.
my brain hurts from the searching til midnight on ebay every night for the last 3 weeks.
:'(
-
Dont know what the 85ps is like as i have the 100ps model and that seems to drive better the more weight it has in it
also when i was looking for a van i asked everyone i saw with a Transit and not one of them had a bad word for them they do rust a bit in certain areas but T-Cut and polish keeps it looking good

To be honest 3 k isnt going to get you much , i think your lookin for rockin horse poo , VIVARO , cracking van but as said pants gearbox , built by renault , i used to work in a transmission rebuilders and thats all we ever had in , you can expect 60k before the box drops out , but we did once get one in with 13k on the clock , what amazes me is the AA , BT , are using them , keep an eye on the market , lots of yellow vivaros are commin your way cheap !
Transits , used to be the MT75 box , again pants , that was our bread and butter in the end , diffs too i might add , not sure what they use now but the rust was due to the fact that transits were made from recyled white goods .
MERCEDES :'( Rust city !
MY bro is a merc car addict , so would not slate them , but merc commercial only build vans to last 4 years thats it .
I have ranted on a bit , my van i hear you say , VW T4 £5000 4 years ago 80k on the clock , 101k on the clock now , and it hasnt cost me a penny , bar tyres , shoes, pads .
Reckon its still worth at least 3 k now , but do i want a t5 , im not sure !

Don't forget the rear springs i put in for you ;D
And you're right about the mercs they do rust but merc do only build them to last a few years as they see anything older as disposable
-
Hey chunky my boy , the only reason the springs went was cos when i was showing you the ropes of building a fantastic business , i had a large ammount of extra weight in the van ;D
YOU LARD ARSE ;D ;D ;D

VW Transporter T30 (T5) 102 with 650 litres of water is good for 90+mph alledgedly.
-
My T4 can hit 100 mph with 400 L on it , only 88 bhp too .
MIND YOU THATS DOWNHILL WITH WIND BEHIND ME ;D

I've managed to get 70mph out of a battery run milkfloat by putting it into neutral and letting it coast freely (out of control) down a steep hill when I was a young child.
