Title: 34 days off already this year!!
Post by: RO-Sheen on May 27, 2009, 08:49:50 am
Its driving me mad!! I've been off with heavy rains in Jan, heavy snow in Feb, bad back in April and now bad shoulder in may! luckily I am only about a week behind as I work my bum off to catch up when I can.
Rant over!!! What time does the Wright stuff start?

I must admit I'm going through one of my "I'm sick of this job" phases.

I'm sat here waiting for the rain to ease off and watching the window cleaner clean the windows next door ???

I'm I doing something wrong other than keeping dry.

I get them once a month, must be our alternative of "time of the month"

:'( same here :'(

Ian window washers; re: working in the rain i do my best not to and haven't worked today probably at times i could of.

I think it's the fear of rejection or confrontation over not today.
Just wondered how you handle custy's that don't want their windows done because of the weather.
DO you just smile and say see you next time or try to convince them otherwise?

My way of thinking is you can't get custy to have it done but i don't take kindly to messers.

this is my real be gripe with the job it's not the work not the weather but the people :'(

any thoughts guys.
yours moany miserabley

You have to build some slack into the system to allow for poor weather. IMO

I will work in the rain and as I've said to my custies it makes no difference to the clean it just means I get wet.
Unless it's windy like today when it does make a diff.

It's annoying because I was up to date last week, now I've got to squeeze 3 days into 2.

I worked in the rain today - did a gutter/soffit clean. Hated every minute of it, really fed up with lugging a generator, vac and wfp about. Never mind, the sun might shine tomorrow.  :'(

I've been advertising to get in some wet weather work,.. this year has be terrible so far, loosing a day a week just isn't an option in the long run!

Lost the company car recently and bought a secondhand astra, took the family to Leicester at the weekend for them to spend half term with grandparents and came home to work hard all week.
Noticed a split in the tyre wall, locking wheel nuts no key with car.
Sort out price to remove nuts with vauxhall dealer and arrange to have the tyre replaced.
Get a phone call, two rear tyres right on limit need doing, sort better price.
So one lost day, raining anyway, and one huge bill.
Needed a new battery last week, I wonder what it will be next week!
Looking forward to a hard days work tomorrow.
