Title: Ashbys 400 P.S.I. pump
Post by: boshravie on May 26, 2009, 01:56:05 pm
Hi guys

Do you know which company beside Ashbys have spare parts for this kind of pump?
It’s a 400 P.S.I. pump which goes in to Ninja carpet cleaning machine.

I would be most grateful for you advice

Regards,
Bosh

Hi dennis

Yes, its Pumptec Serious 205V.
I had a look at that link but its just one page web site, I need to give them a ring, I will also look at Woodbridge to see if they show the spare parts on their web site.
Many thanks for your great help. :)

Hi gwrightson

Well when I had it in the machine one day it just stopped.
To be unest with you I haven’t opened it up yet to see what’s wrong with it So I am not sure exactly.
it could be the motor or it could be just the pump.

Bosh

By the looks of the motor (corroded) the pumps seals have gone and leaked onto the motor.

When the motor gets wet, the bearings corrode and it runs out of alignment then stopping the motor, time for a new motor.

Fit a new seal kit and piston to the pump head (not the valves) and lubricate with silicone grease.

When fitting the new motor, nip the long bolts that secure it to the mounting plate just enough so the motor spindle runs free.
If you over tighten the bolts, the spindle will not run freely and will screw the motor up after a matter of weeks.

Remove the pump head every 6 months or so to clean and lubricate the piston and offset drive bearing with silicone grease.
