Have the tank fitted by garage etc. Fit the rest yourself. If you can use stickle bricks then you can fit a system, it's as easy as falling off a log.

Its a case of personal choice really..... Bit like decorating. You can pay to get the professionals in or do it yourself. Getting the professionals in means you should get a better finish, no need to pop off to B&Q to get something you forgot 30mins after your last trip there, no need for you to find the time to do it and finally some people just don't want to diy.

Doing It Yourself is a lot cheeper but you still need your wits about you because if you wire up a flow control, pump or split charger wrongly then its you who has to pay for a new replacement and wait for it to be delivered.

So DIY can save you money but pro fitting can save time and the hassel.

Mr H

DIY all the way...enough information on this site to install a very professional looking and working system without the added labour costs...unless of course you want a pro-fit system...

Cheers
Dave.

I second FTP,.. once the tank is properly fitted (in a cage & secured to the chassis) then the rest is childsplay.
Pure freedom do pro fitted systems very cheap tho,.. if your budget isn't too tight and you're not keen on DIY then its a great option.

it is some times no cheaper to diy a system over a factory fit.

Hmm not sure about that, go on then give us an example of how buying one of your sytems is cheaper than diy ?

If you take into account loosing 2 days work to do a fit out then I guess the prices aren't too far apart,... but still,.. install the system on a weekend! :)

This is what I did.....

Bought a trolley system.....small one.

When I got more customers I went van mount.

Broke the trolley system down and used this for the van mount.

Bought a tank and bobs your uncle.........

Cost for trolley was around £400.

I think overall I paid £800 but that was for 2 x poles + ro etc.

Big J I used purefreedom DIY system, it was very easy to install, and they give you spare fittings too, just to make sure you have everything.
Give Andy a call at purefreedom on 01472 347519 its worth it.

Trying to save every penny is a waste of time and will cost you more in the long term, and there may be need if you are just starting to go and spend £ tens thousands on a top system at this stage.

Have a really good look at a pro system then count the parts (only need one hand for this) look at how much wiring is involved (crickey there might be four wires and one fuse). See how hard it is to use a hoselock connector or a push fit.  ::)
If you can't fit it out then get your kids to do it after primary school.  ::)
Then tell me where the sense in spending £tens thousands on a top system is?
Rocket science is not involved apparently and if you are fitting a cold water system what's the worst that can happen?
Errrr you could get wet  ;D

No, you were the one who mentioned £tens of thousands - make your mind up ???

Or did you mean to say "there may be no need to spend £tens of thousands?"

I had my system fitted by Pure freedom
Once it was fitted and up and running straght to work next day
I dont take it back to them for any serviceing if I have a problem
I just give them a ring tell them the problem they talk me throught it
thats after care for you
I do DIY care my self the systems so easy to maintain all the filters are so easy to fit
dont have to take any complecated parts off done in minuets
So my advice is let Pure Freedom build it and fit it, as many have said in this post there as cheap as DIY
Then do the DIY after

Hi Ladders. Were a sad pair!!! Yes I saw 3 prototype things. Sworn to seretcey, however they tried a piece of kit on my van and there is a post about a cone and a post a week or two ago about someone tripping on a hose and I think this will be the answer to trip hazards.
