Title: ebay window pump
Post by: simp on May 21, 2009, 09:06:56 pm
What do you all think of this? Not a bad price eh? Would 55psi be enough to run a one man setup and has anyone else bought one of these?

Buy cheap, buy twice.

Go for shurflo mate, i had a cheapo pump in my first trolley system, and didnt last long. Had shurflo in my old van for over 2 years, still going.  ;)

Dont like the fact they advertised it will be replaced if faulty. Says they have problems to me.

Just my 2ps worth though. Could be a great little item

For the price I think I will make him an offer and see what I can get one for.

Only need a second pump for a couple of one off jobs in our second van.

I only use the small flojet pumps thats a very good price and 55psi is ample for 1 -2 litre per min.
like it good link.  8)

i had the same pump as my spare

my pump on the trolley was playing up so i just changed it for my spare ( the pump in question ) i used it for over 9 months

as its a low output pump, i just let it pump at full blast, i found the flow just right for me

21 quid delivered, ideal for a spare pump on the van, lets face it, if your pump packs in, you lose alot more than 21 quid for the day ( or 2 ) work lost

If you look through his feedback, he is accepting £12.00 for them.

the FL2202 is the one to go for, 80psi 4l/min, made in the same factory as all the other pumps.  ive just swapped my shurflo for it, i changed the pressure switch on the shurflo but it was still cutting the flow off intrmittently  >:(
its nosier but it works perfect. try red hat diving on ebay, its the same pump that goes in the 35ltr trolleys. and he's run it for 2yrs
i have it at 6 o'clock on the ecoflo and it runs 50mtrs of microbore no problem

i made a offer for 13 quid last night, its been accepted ( i didnt see davids3511 post last night )

nice spare pump

what would be handy is a filter for the hose in the barrel, then i could just fit the pump in a really small box on the cart

they use a microbore size inlet/outlets, and they are the other way round to the shurflo, there is a tiny arrow on the side which shows you flow direction, i didn't see it till after fitting, had to mount it upside down  :D

It looks good to me, just get one of those £15 12 volt speed controllers from Maplins and your in business.
A pump and controller for under £30, can't be bad.

Just put an offer in of £11. See what happens. I only want this pump as a back up. Lets face it I could buy a top notch one and by the time its used ( could be 12 months) it might by knackered anyway. So for this money I've nothing to lose!

Aren't they the same potent-ion meters that were used in the old Varistream?

im not sure about that dai but when i first started i was using these and they were burning out in no time , this wasnt just me but 2 of my mates who were using them aswell so i wouldnt bother with the maplin controllers .

the maplin controllers are only rated at 3amp continuous use and 5amp peak.
should be ok for these little pumps but not shurflo's

I suspect most of the branded pumps come from the same factory as each batch I get has a differant name on even though they all look the same.  I would also agree with the answer above suggesting a FL2202 as an economical option. I have just changed one that has had two years of regular use. They are also available as a slightly larger version and higher pressure 3203

i like the look of the larger one John, have you tried one yet, i'm wondering if they are a less noisy in operation.
