I use Roundup, all the time...Just remember you need a license PA1/ PA6A  to apply pesticides to customers properties.

Sherco, I am sure this licence is only required for spraying and that application via watering can is fine without such a licence.

I am sure that we discussed this a while back.

I think that in cases where a licence is required to spray then a licence is required to purchase.

I wouldn't stake my life on the above but have seen nothing to contradict. I am more than happy to learn of any facts to the contrary as I am sure you were taught something about this during qualifying that you could pass on in detail.

Ged, what is the active ingredient/s in this product and is it available on line? I would be interested in checking this out myself.

Best wishes

Ian

The law states that you can buy pesticides to use on your own property, but if you are applying them with knapsack, watering can etc to a paying customers property you need a PA1/PA6A certificate. Not that hard to get, and when quoting jobs show customer your licence and explain you need this to put weedkiller onto there drive etc, and they should check other companies to make sure they have them....could win you the job.

Can you spray for free with no liscense?Could you say it`s the customers weed killer and it`s a favour?Or can you get fined for just having it on your van?

If you carry commercial pesticides in a vehicle, they have to be in a locked,  leak-proof container, because of contamination to water courses if you had an accident etc. The Health & safety, and the Environment Agency are not stupid, if they see you spraying a drive etc, they will want to see your paperwork....Just book into your local Agricultural college and get trained its a lot easier. I know the In's and out about this subject as i used to do allot of spraying for the environment agency, on water courses, reservoirs etc, footpath spraying for councils.
