Title: Which 24ft pole
Post by: Ian Rochester on May 19, 2009, 09:03:30 pm
One of my Ionic 24ft Fibre Glass poles has given up the ghost and I need to replace it.  It's lasted us for nearly a year but the top section is now well worn and the pins on other sections have worn through the fibre-glass

I'm after something that will last for a while and is reasonably hard wearing, it's not me that uses it so it doesn't get looked after in the same way as if I was working with it day in day out.

What do you recommend, looked at the Brodex prolong, is anyone using this?

I will only spend big money if it is guaranteed to give me a decent working life.  Who's got offers on at the moment?

If longevity in employees' hands is your main consideration then the Brodex Prolong is a good choice.

I would go for the 24' Xtel Hybrid from Gardiners ,I have 1 thats lasted 2 1/2 yrs it has had the top 2 sections replaced about a month ago thats all, I have also just bought another from them, they are about £250 inc vat

I had a prolong 25' they are 7' long closed but well built, I think they should last but are more expensive at £312 + vat for a 25'er

Do not buy a Hybrid pole they are a waste of money if you ask me,save your money and buy a 24ft Facelift Carbon pole i`ve had mine for over 4 years and it gets used everyday.

Your opinion NWH, as I said my first one lasted 2 1/2 yrs b4 I replaced the top 2 sections I personally find that good value

the Hybrid 24ft is a well thoughtout pole, its shorter when collapsed, lighter and half the price of a facelift, the clamps are a good design as they dont get caught on guttering, a gr8 budget pole

if you want a quality pole purely to last then the facelift carbon and prolong are a good option

The new facelift fusion looks appealing though at slightly more than the xtel and shorter sections than the carbon facelift

Had a text from Brodex today. They're doing a 24' Prolong and you get a 6' free. Not that I would ever use the small one unless I was washing the van. They didn't include the price, but it may be worth a call. I've got the 24', bit heavy but stands a right good hammering.

No, I got the SMS about an hour after I placed the order.  I phoned Patrick and he said I had got last months deal, 40% off full price, instead of the new deal which is pay full price and get a 6ft pole free.

We already have a couple of short poles and I find them really useful, good for doing plate glass windows on Supermarkets, shopfronts and car showrooms, which we have a few of.
