hi all,
am just wanting some info and what you's think of bonnet carpet cleaning system.
do these have to be used with a truck mount? are they more suitable for commercial jobs rather then domestic? and of course what results do you get from this way?
thanks in advance

A bonnet system is a low cost versatile cleaning system. It can be used as a stand alone using dry foam rotary shampoos or microsplitters. It can also be used post HWE as a drying measure which also helps to prevent wickback.
It is especially good on low profile commercial carpets.

R-Clean, been using the bonnet method for a number of years, it has its pro's & con's... great for maintainance cleaning, rubbish on loop pile carpets, fantastic when used for agitation (i 9 times out of 10 use this method prior to hwe) & have had great results using it with micro-splitters, ie; craftex, one step & its replacement, catalyst on wool carpets (hot water)... in fact i've just brought another floor machine, a powr-flite C171... regards charlie.

A great tool to have in the box and it can be VERY profitable on commercial low profiles. Generic system advised against on wool, but some branded versions are, or were, Woolsafe Approved. Can be a great problem solver.
I've been having great success recently with a detergent free solution for generic bonnet work, but a couple of weeks ago had a real toughy. In this case a microsplitter performed best. So, no one solution will be the best for all circumstances.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

You can't go wrong it is the best return on investment i have ever made.
but remember you don't need to spend a fortune, tbe bonnets however are the main investment, and a cheap scrubber

As mr dvae says a great little investment.
I do very well out of the system as it costs me next to nothing to clean and just my time ;)

cheers for the replys and whats wickback?
-
Wick back is caused when hwe doesn't remove all the dirt which then wicks up to the surface of the pile as it dries.
-
wick back i'e always found happens when you don't take your time with hwe, hence leaving dirt still in the carpet to rise to the surface via capillary attraction

Sometimes Dave it can be exactly the opposite....................taking too long as in putting down too much water and failing to get it dried out effectively and quickly.
