How do i find out vehicle payloads ?
Am wanting to find out what VW Sharan can carry as im thinking of getting a tank in there. Also i'd like to know what a few vans would be able to carry.
Thanks

400l, plus a bloke, plus fuel, plus equipment, you'd be over the payload very quickly.

Yes you are probably right concept, all those things need to be taken into account, 400 might be pushing it.

I have an escort van with a payload of 650kg I have a 350ltr system in there plus all my kit and 2 ladders on top and theres myself and sometimes a helper in the passenger seat, it doesnt ride low at all but its a swine to climb hills though lol ;D

You sure about that Matt?
I thought Escorts had either a 550kg payload (Escort 55) or a 750kg payload (Escort 75). I wouldn't want to use an Ford Escort myself for WFPing though I suppose it would be OK with a small tank if you were only doing the more awkward windows with WFP.

Leap I was told by the local Ford dealer that the payload was 650kg, I bought it about 4 months ago and recently converted to WFP I will be looking at getting a Dispatch, Expert or Transit later on in the year, just payed out several grand in the last few months, so trying to pay some of that back first.

Yes, the initial outlay can be quite large. It's over three years since I went WFP and I'm still repaying the loans. Equipment nearly paid for but I took van over 5 years so not paid for till late in 2010. Hope it lasts that long. I have a bit of work these days that has a lot of glass where the job takes more than a day so I do need to be able to carry a fair bit of water. I like to have a minimum payload of 1200kg to allow that (along with other equipment) and even then, when such a job is coming up, I start allowing the diesel to run down to save a bit on weight (a diet might help too :) ).

With my limited payload and tank what RO system would you recomend?
Obviously the nearer I get to my payload the more fuel ill use.
I have been told some Peugeot Experts have a payload of 1195kg

I've just bought a VW Transporter T30 LWB. Is the payload 1200kg?

Yes, well near enough - the exact figure depends on the engine you have.
