Title: Debt Collecting
Post by: Paula on April 21, 2005, 04:11:33 pm
I one of my domestic customers recently moved house before settling his bill. His mobile is constantly off and he has left the place where he used to work. he owes me around £200!!
Shall I call this a loss or is there anyway that I could track him down? Your advice is really needed here!
Thanks
Paula

I presume he was an 'owner occupier' at the house you cleaned. Have you spoken to the new occupiers? As the buyer she will probably know who his solicitor is. Perhaps you can write to him there.

Is the new occupier receiving mail for him or is it being redirected. You could write to him at his old address and hope he gets it somehow.

Do domestic cleaners not do a credit check?

if you goto various tracing agencies in yell pages, they can normally find anyone in a short time, theyll charge, but then you pass the charge onto him, if he refuses to pay, a visit to the county court in issuing a claim against him should make him cough up, especially that in your evidence he moved and avoided contacting you, judges dont like p*** takers!! good luck
