Title: txting night before?
Post by: monkeyman on May 16, 2009, 04:16:47 pm
i txt all my custies the night before to let them know i,ll be calling next day and to leave gates unlocked(i dont carry ladders now all wfp so i dont climb over locked gates).however i,m getting a bit fed up of having to retext again the following night if i couldn,t get the job done due to heavy rain etc.
was thinking of sending this txt out instead
"we will be calling tomorrow to clean your windows, please leave gates unlocked.if we are unable to call due to eg heavy rain,we shall call the following day.so again please leave gates unlocked thank you"
do any of you send the same type of txt

sounds good gemma, we text and if it rains i send another which explains we will not be coming due to rain and we will try again on..... and then the day.

but i dont mind sending serveral as its so quick to add many people to one text. I keep several pre written texts in my templates to save writting them out all the time.

We have

One for coming tomorrow
one for its raining.
and one for late payments.

i send out automated texts. on the odd occasion i have to send one out due to not making it but not often. i find most people are just grateful having a wc that gives them an indication of when were coming

What about getting email addresses from your customers that use the net ?

Its something im thinking of doing for those who use there email regularly. Would save on the txts

Its true most customers i have found like my call / txt the night before

I have one job that i text as they have roller shutters over their windows  ??? and i email two jobs for internal access its a good way of making sure you have the job to do and you also get paid
Although i wouldnt want to have to do too many text/email every week too time consuming

I dislike needing to pre-arrange jobs but as more people seem to be security concious these days I am starting to change tack a bit.  I would hate to do it for all or most of them though.  It can get very difficult with customers who go away a lot or during the holiday season.  I even had one guy text me back to say not to bother this time.  That might not have been too bad but my phone was still switched on and he woke me up at midnight to let me know.  He beat me to cancelling the job.

Sounds a good idea to me . Do your custies leave the gates unlocked after this message. Also why did you decide to leave your ladders at home as it were ..
