Clean It Up

I'm getting an increasing amount of UPVC/Gutter cleans - which I could do without, because I really don't enjoy doing them.
I think the Water Fed Pole does a good job , but at the expense of a lot of shoulder work, and crooked neck :(
Not to mention getting soaked with running down the pole >:(
So, this got me thinking ( a rare thing indeed), but I was wondering if this:
http://www.jet-wash-direct.co.uk/pressurewashers/telescoping-lance.html
Would do a good job, without the need to contort yourself into daft positions to reach into gutter brackets ect?
I think with the different attachments, and lance belt looks like it could be the tool for the job, and lot easier on the shoulders.
Has anyone used one?
Your obviously restricted with the length, but then I only do domestic UPVC cleans, so the longest pole would suffice my needs.
Thanks

i tried one on my property.put some tfr on the fascias first then couple of minutes later sprayed it all off.worked well and also did inside gutters with it . made a mess and needs practice but it works ok.
-
I've got one and will be using it in an hours time. They do the job but you need some sort of power supply for the washer or a petrol driven one too. They are very heavy but eliminate the upward scrubbing of wfp which is such hard work.
-
Brill - what make and length did you go for?
-
I usually use the lance to clean off the really bad stuff and to clean behind the gutter and the brackets then give a "polish" with WFP and brush.
Regards
Mr H

We use 24ft Omnipole powerpole, Karcher petrol pressure washer and TFR. Any little bits touched up afterwards with WFP.
Powerpole is a good robust bit of kit.

Doe's the Omnipole come complete with nozzles, hose, connectors and trigger mechanism?
Does it attach to any Pressure Washer?
:)
-
Tried cleaning the insides with a lance this morning on a conservatory. There's a knack to it and I haven't got it ;D God, what a mess!
Gutter vacuum went well though - no mess with that - couldn't lift the drum off the trolley when i'd finished, there was so much in it. ::)
-
Used to pressure wash, but i dont want to pay the expensive pressure washing insurance, and besides i'd rather not have the potential to cause water ingress issues via high pressure (i doubt it would be covered by PL insurance for pressure washing either).
wfp does the job for me - shoulders coming up a treat - one less thing to think about in the gym! ;D
btw, i do have one of those lances (longest one), its very heavy at full reach. You need practise as once its is sending pressurised water out the jet, you need to be sure you are well prepared for it, otherwise its off! Ive had one go before, nearly did my back in to bring it under control and a controlled crash down to the ground..
You want to buy mine? Its a year old only used it 3 times :P

Hi Seven Bays - just phone up Omnipole. It's a 24ft powerpole with the trigger and hose bolted on, plus a set of nozzles and a 45 degree bent end delivery pipe. Hardwearing and bomb proof.
Previous to that we had an aluminuim extending lance made in China from Northern Tools. It did the job, but flimsey. The twist grips were cheap plastic and the ally pole bent.

Here is 2 pics will edit some more so you can see each thing

So, are you pushing for commercial work or residential?

So, are you pushing for commercial work or residential?
I am not fussy, I will be pushing both although I can see the residental side being more regular than commercial, but saying that it is an opening into commercial exterior maintentance packages I have over the last few months been scoping for other workers and seem to have found want I need to progress only time will tell either either way. I have booked in jobs that nearly cover the outlay without advertising the fact so all good.

how much u pay?
-
Why have you got to wait so long? I thought the idea was to open the box and start work straight away. Did you order a triple 1400w vac and have you had to order a 6kva generator or will 5kva be enough?
-
how much u pay?
I paid 800 for the pressure washer second hand, used twice as new (result there) same as omni poles new one.
Generator is coming this week
ftp I don't have the gutter vac yet as they are on pre order.

bhp?
-
Just looking at your pics. It all looks very similar to the cheaper lances with the addition of some nice knurled locking collars so the spike and gutter hook can be locked into position so they don't spin. Lance/pole looks pretty robust too what length is that?
-
bhp?
its not a car, it is 11hp
FTP: 36ft m8

Ian, thanks so much for that, and thanks for the call - sorry I didn't have my phone with me at the time.
Did that come as a complete package, or are the high pressure 'bits' extra's?
Looking on the Omnipole website I worked it out as:
£375.00 x 30ft Powerpole
£ 50,00 x Gutter bit
£ 42.00 x High Pressure bit
£ 14.00 x Accessory Plug
£ 29.95 x High Pressure Nozzles.
£511.74 X Total
Doe's it come with the trigger mechanism & high pressure hose? ( I couldn't these on there website anywhere)
And is the high pressure hose use externally to the pole, and can you use the high pressure with the brush supplied?
I have emailed them, but as of yet not heard anything. :-\

Yes the trigger and hose are included in the price orf the powerpole
-
I'd be interested to know what the powerpole feels like. I have the cheapo telescopic lance and whilst it does the job it's a pile of orrible, heavy, bendy, unbalanced poo to be honest so even I might have to purchase one. :o
I had a gutter clean to third storey this morning plus conservatory roof. What a horrible day! The wind was whipping my brush about at full stretch, I got my hose caught, got the power cable caught, got a hosepipe tangled, jammed my slx with dirt, couldn't unlock the twisty grips on my lance and finally chucked my slx across the lawn in temper when it wouldn't collapse. (didn't help when i found a knot in the pole hose inside the pole) Then the heavens opened so I cleared off home.
You'll love it Ian it's great!

-
Ok Glyn.
I'll email you again tonight.

Thanks
Marc
Also Glyn - I can't get the price list, or printable brochure to come up from your website. Are you having any problems with it? it's coming up as 'not found'
