There are to many depressing, argumentative, posts on here lately so on a lighter note :
I'm looking for some inspiration for a new batch of business cards, here's a picture of the last one I had done.
Be interesting to see who's got the most cool, bitchin, slammin, outa site .......... ::) ( best looking business card )
Never underestimate the power of a cool BC ( didn't you see the movie American Psycho? ) ;D
Its all about the look baby, if you walk into that huge office block with wall to wall manky carpets and you knock em dead with a killer sales pitch only to ruin all that hard work when you slam down your 85 x 55 off white 15 gram crumpled excuse for a business card with 'Vista Print' stamped in the corner.
So upload a picky and lets see who's the daddy. List the suppliers name too.
Mine are from ......... Can't remember ;D The guy in Hull lots of us use !!

i personaly think vista print do an ok job, and i think its just as much to do with quantity as with quality,
we used to spend loads on luxury cards but then too scared to give them away, now we get through
about 250 a week and for us serves a much better purpose, after all its about reaching as many people
as possible,
I rarely marvel at someones business card, just put it somewhere handy so can use it in future.

Oh dear steve - you said a swear word as far as derek is concerned - I await his comments as always! ;D
(Steve I totally agree - can get great cards from vistaprint, I also get the postcards which when I hand them over people seem impressed, also got magnets on side of my car too)

I,m happy with vista print, as already pointed out you can give hundreds away ,
to me it doesnt really matter , i leave at least half a dozen with custys, I leave no end of cards with other service sectors and I always give a handful to practicly anyone I talk to .
maybe some get thrown away, but i,ve had calls from custys saying I got your card from my decorator/plumber/gardener etc.
the more out their the better.

ps paul . is that a card or a flyer ? to be honest not impressed , i think it looks very dull .
-
I bet it would better in gloss, I had some done by Vista and they look better than the non gloss and last longer.

Its a card Geoff, if you mean dull colour it's because the camera, if you mean dull as in ' It looks sh** ' thats also correct. ;D
Paul

I meant colour paul ;)
never said a word about the rest :)
but you did ;)

I think vistaprint cards are great value. I my opinion you generally hand out cards to customers or potential customers you have met, so I think you dont have to impress them with the best business card in the world. Its not like a flyer you're delivering to complete strangers which you want to impress. So as long as a business is not completely naff then cheap and average isnt a bad thing.

pete - when your saving your picture you have to rename it with .jpg at the end - try that
-
Nice, are you still doing your refer a friend discount card
-
Hi Shaun
yes every custy gets at least 3 and the 10% card too.
Cheers Goron
Ps. i have been getting mine from vistaprint but do the design myself, i have however just realised that printcarrier are far cheaper!
-
Just been to printcarrier. £56 for 1000 cards isnt cheaper by a long way.
Chris
-
Don't know what you are looking at but i have just been on there and for 5000 business cards in better quality than vistaprint are £54.05 including vat
-
Vista Print in gloss are fine by me and you can design your own.
There websites are pretty good and affordable too.
I use the businees cards as leaflets and post 'em.

The prices on the linked page above shows that they put their logo and text on your card somewhere... is this true and if it is what's the difference between them and Vista print doing it?
Personally I go to a local printer and although it is slightly more expensive (only slightly) the service I get is second to none. Have had cards from places like Vista and Print Carrier before and although cheap, the service was cr*p.

Not sure how Vista print can be crap ???
You design your card online, choose when you want it and then they send it to you :D
Plus the fact, if you just wait for the emails most stuff is free , you just pay for the postage, which
works out about less than 1p a card !
Plus the fact you can change the design at any time, put specific offers on, different pictures etc

I always go for the normal delivery, dont pay extra for early delivery with vista,
I still get them within a few days.

You can get them without there logo on as well I think.
John

The imprint thing that it shows is just so you can see what it looks like, you do not add it until the ordering process and it will make the order even cheaper!
Cheers Goron
-
If you don't have the freebies from Vistaprint, but pay for better quality,
there is no logo on them.
-
Indeed, but that then makes the cost no cheaper than having it done locally.
I found that when I was having the 'freebies' that the service was lacking but when I said I would pay, that they took a little more interest.
I just like having that human element... Vista et al, will print whatever you send them, whereas the local printer glances over them and if there is a glaring mistake will call you to make sure you don't end up with 1000 business cards that are not what you expected.
Just my experiences, that's all.

Here's mine then.
