I know we should all be looking for the magic 000 on our TDS metres on the water coming out of our poles, but what is the maximum reading you can clean with that will leave an exceptable clean?

some say the can go up to 15ppm, stick a zero and you cant blame the water, had 2 di vessels and it saves on resin.....000 accept nothing less
-
where did you locate the DI vessels, both on the outlet or one on the inlet to the tank and one on the outlet?

after your ro, have one di then go into another then to tank, when the last one rises that goes into tank it is time to change, but instead of binning the 001 resin on the one going to tank, you swop them over and ditch the resin out of the di vessel that is nearest the ro, you then put the one that was going into tank by the ro and replace the resin in the ditch one and but it before tank, this saves resin big time, if you dont get what I mean when you call I will explain it better,

I know Ian you just change the vessels around and ditch the resin out of the one nearest the RO as this one will have the highest TDS reading to cope with. Is that right lol

My mains water has a TDS of 250, would that be low enough for a DI system or would that be too expensive?

Ro, it would cost you an arm and leg in resin, you need an ro defo.
-
Agree with Ian, RO and DI, cheaper to run and it should give you 0.00tds. With this you shouldn't have any probs,
Mart.

My mains water has a TDS of 468 and out of the ro at 5tds with a 240v pump 160psi / at 200psi come out of the ro at 0tds
-
my tds is 270 ish and ive got a 300gpd with twin 10" di canisters and swap them round to save resin.

My tap TDS moves around alot between 380 to about 420 its usally around 400.
After the RO i get mine down to 20 but i have bad water pressure and flow :'( so alot of my water is waste i think about 60% waste 40% pure! at the RO this is usally around 63 PSI. I canot have it any high as the TDS starts to rise.
nightmare really!
You will have to have an RO at 250ppm but aslong as your waster pressure is good should bring it down quite low!

even in soft water its cheper with RO :D :D
