Title: New Business Start Up
Post by: eddiemac on May 08, 2009, 01:02:23 pm
Hi I am looking at starting a new business, and have been advised that the prochem powermax machine is an ideal start up product. I only have £1500 to spend and want to offer carpet and upholstery cleaning services. How should I spend my money to get up and running.

If you only have £1500 then forget it, your equipment and chemicals will cost you more than that to start with.
That's without the other expenses.
Advertising
Insurance
Accountant
Transport
Fuel
Stationery inc business cards, leaflets etc.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Have everything else sorted, just need equipment and chemicals.

Surely worst ways I could get a Prochem Galaxy or Fivestar but not sure if these machines are adequate?

Surely someone must know of ex demo or reconditioned machines available, or even rental options.

Only other way is lease hire.
Remember you really need 2 of everything, nothing worse than say sprayer busting a seal and you have no
spare or your one and only 25 foot length of hose bursting, right in the middle of a job.

Ebay may be an option. A prochem machine went for just over £600 ??? Alternative maybe a lease, £1500 is a very good deposit for some quality equipment, Alltec, Poweflite, the Scorpion and the airflex have all had threads on them lately, do a search for opinions on each. If £1500 is your max it could be your only option.

If your going down the lease road you need to be leasing at least £3001 worth of gear excluding the VAT.
Below £3000 and the lease firm will struggle to find a lender for you.
Remember the gear must cost over £3000 before VAT.
I got quoted £122 + VAT a month for £3200 worth of gear so not cheap.
