I have a customer who has jut had some solar heating installed and the installers spilt some water from one of the pipes and it has left a green stain, does anyone have any reccomendations, i'm planning on flushing it out and using something like prochem red rx..

If it's from a radiator pipe it could be inhibitor, try a rust removal product but test first of course, and rinse well with plain water. Doesn't always work but I have had success. Ensure you have a disclaimer, is this for the householder or installers?

If its from the solar panel pipe it will be anti freeze.
Best thing i found ultrapac renovate ,obv pre-test first.

THANKS
iM DOING THE JOB FOR THE SOLAR COMPANY, I never considered anti freeze, Ive got some ultrapack renovate so i can try that, i was also told to try a strong mix of micro splitter and leave for 10 mins. Are you saying use a disclaimer because the produts may worsen the stain or because it may not come out?

If I remember correctly pipework is under pressure so could be quite a lot of water even though leak may have only been for few seconds .
Have a look if its gone through to the underlay, otherwise you may well clean it and stain reappears a few days later.
I would Use a Disclaimer, because the customer may still want a new carpet out of it even if you get it spottless, leaving you waiting for the money from solar panel company.

Micro-splitters do not require dwell time. If Ultrapac dont work try One Step Zap it(or is it Zip it) ???. Its the one thats used for oil based stains.

Just leaving to give it a go, lost my ultra pac so going to try filter out and if that dont work i'm going to try karls ( amtech ) sugestion of a strong and lengthy dose of microplitter...

I've used M Power alone to deal with radiator leakage in the past!

I managed to lighten the stains, but you can sill see it, i used micro splitter and filter out , couldn't find the ultra pac..i may go back and try rust remover as thats been suggested by a few people. Dont have M Power
