Title: Varistream
Post by: Blue Frog Systems on May 02, 2009, 12:34:59 am
Would a varistream  set at a low flow rate reduce the pressure on my RO from the 100 psi shurflo pump ?

I have had it running at 100psi and the casings keep cracking. my home psi is 30 and to get a good water amount i need 60psi.

So would a varistream be able to lower a 100 psi pump to around 60psi or am i just making it up in my head ?

Thanks

JP

Can the pressure switch be altered/changed? They make a 60psi pump too.

In theory yes it would, you can adjust the pressure cut off point.
In practice, my Varistream digital seems to give whatever pressure it likes.
At the moment mine is on the minimum pressure setting, I have selected this setting in the past and it wouldn't even send the water up the pole before cutting out, and now, still on minimum, it's just about right.
If you want 60psi then do as above and buy a 60psi pump.

Hi, if the casings are cracking is there blockage causing over pressure? ie membrains.
Mart.

You can turn the pump down to run at 60psi,i`m not sure but i think you have alter the screw setting on the pump.
