Hi all Just wondering what is considered a large round or small round, It`s been raining and nothing else to do. lets have your view on this topic. Michael
-
small round to me is 300 - 400 jobs a month any higher than that is a large round, but it all depends on what type of jobs they are.

would you not say 300-400 is big as this is full time.

i think i have a large round if it stops fine it takes me 5 weeks to do my monthlys and fortnightlys ;D ;D
-
All rounds are differant you could have a very large round with 20 properties and then again you could have a small round with 300 properties it all depends on what work you have.
If you struggle to get round its large for you if you can get round easily with some free time left its small.
-
It really is how long is a piece of string? I reckon I've got around 300 custies...a small round by most peoples standards but it keeps me occupied 30-35 hours a week.
-
I've got about 240 domestic custies that I mostly do over a 6 week period. It sounds awful looking at those figures because, assuming 30 working days, that's only an average of 8 per day. Although there are some small jobs, there are also some pretty large jobs in there too.
However, I do have some OK bits of commercial work on top of that and I do subcontract a fair bit of work (both domestic and commercial) from other cleaning companies so that tends to make the money up a fair bit.
-
This is easy, anything smaller than my round is for midgets, and anything over's a boastful lie.
Then there's the money angle, just under the threshold is a bit tame, but to go over and meet the additional expense probably needs another 20k before you are back into the clear water. The figure that this gives you becomes a bit hectic even for me, and holidays are just a nighmare...
It's a bit like being invited to carry away gold bullion, how many bars are nice to keep, and how many will rip the stitching in your pockets and fall out as you try a tip toe exit?
So simply based on this ceiling and what is physicaly possible,600, is probably a big round if the average is £15, and many -but not all- are 8wks.
-
To me the amount of houses means nothing you can have 600 houses you can have 100,if i was buying either of these as a business all i would want to know was which was earning more money in the quickest time. You`ll be surprised there are rounds of a 100 houses that earn far more than those of 600,anyone judging a round simply on the amount of houses is foolish.
-
;D hi stan the man if i may ask how do you manage post thousands and thousands of post in this forum if you are this busy busy person? 8)

I have been saying this for years, still they dont seem to understand. WORK = MONEY dont matter how many its the money that matters at the end of the day.

Profit Ian, not work
NWH got it right, time=money, the number of buildings on your round is less important.
Says the same thing Ewan, you just word it different to me ;)
-
i think we have a few mensa members here! us thick window cleaners could never work out mass calculations like less work but more money ;D ;D
-

-
I would have thought it would depend on the type of property

Explain your post, or are you to stupid to understand what you have written.
shows your still an idiot! ;D

Any round thats annual value is below the VAT level is small in my opinion.
For EU purposes any business that employs less than 50 people is classified as small
-
Glyn that's true to a point, I have to pay VAT as soon as I started but that's because of Kraut law. I would think a decent size round would be one that pays you enough to live as you want to.
If I needed 2000 a month to live fairly comfortable, then 3000 would be a big round to me. Pounds Euro's not properties.

Sometimes Ian, as long as it constructive, it takes a while to draw the answer out of some people, whether it wrong or right it doesn’t matter as long as you learn something.
There’s so many set in there ways, to challenge old views makes some feel uncomfortable, unfortunately. Even with my few years experience things are very different from when I started window cleaning.
Your spot on by the way “it’s the money that matters at the end of the day” but even that statement should be in some form of context.
I never learnt at school Ewan so my English grammer is poor I do admit, never held me back from making money, typing all the time and reading helps alot ;D
-
You're just the right person Ewan, to pick someone up for their grammar! You rarely make sense at all. Who cares about grammar. I would be happy for once, just to understand what your point is.

Give an example of what you mean "in some form of context"
