Gone up a bit this year. Nice and light for old people or hernias.

Heres the proof , this was my first day wfp , same old hose reel !
-
Wintecs do that one too - think mine lasted a year then the spindle went just before the plastic carrying handle shattered.
Metal is best though not the cheapest.
-
gardenia from b&q is very good
-
ok , ftp , why did you not buy a new handle and manifold , would have cost you £6 for another years use ?
-
I did buy the manifold, then the handle went so I called it a day. I do seem very heavy on my equipment - i went through three hoselock reels in months.
Looking back, I always had my pressure too high so the weakest link of all the cheaper reels seems to be the connector, once you've blown the female part off it burrs the male bit making it useless. The hoselock reels used to split in the middle, distort and eventually blow apart (the two halves of the drum only push fit together). You get what you pay for - well at least I seem to - none of my cheaper goods go the distance.

Hoselock from B&Q for about £15
I know of some very cheap microbore too ;)
If my past experiences are anything to go by, it's best to ensure that microbore has a thick core. I once bought some cheaper stuff and after a few weeks, it kept pinholing. Not saying that your cheaper stuff is like that but a good idea to check it out before buying.

Ive just bought a metal hose reel but to be honest i still prefer the Gardenia one that i bought a year ago from B and Q
