Title: Amtico cleaning
Post by: benny d on April 28, 2009, 03:23:39 pm
Hi all,
I have to quote to clean Amtico in a hairdressers shop tomorrow.

I have been cleaning tile and grout, Karndean flooring and all sort of vinal flooring for about 8 months since purchasing a SX-12 machine from Alltec. But I have not cleaned Amtico before.
I use a Steamway truck mount usually at 1,000psi
Should I just use the Amtico cleaning products, or will my usual Bridgepoint hard floor cleaner and protector be ok?

I presume that it should cost more as there is protector to be applied at least twice?
Any advice would be of help.
thanks

Excuse me for being thick, but when you say protector, I take it you are not suggesting to use the same protector as you would on tile & grout!?
Dave.

Normally Amtico is pretty good at staying clean provided it is vacuumed & wet mopped regularly. The fact that they are asking a cleaning co. to do it would imply that it hasn't been cared for regularly & dirt has become ingrained in the finish
Use a normal stripper you would use for any other vinyl floor or Amticos "dressing remover" ( which is just a stripper) & apply 2 coats of their "floor dresser".
