you can always print the days work. £3 for 500 sheets of  A4. take a while for any pda to make itself cost effective ;) ;D ;).

that being said can't wait for iphone O.S. 3.0 ;D ;D ;D

its more time i was thinking about, and having your day to hand, rather than scrabbling around for sheets of paper and a pen...

more time off the glass=less money.

I have used George on a pda but to be honest its just another toy, mine broke and I'm back to a worklist on paper it hasn't let me down yet except when I forget to take it with me, I also find if I want to swap the job order around its easier as well just number them in the order you require the night before.

Im getting fed up with PDA's i keep dropping the bloody things and they always break.

I dropped my latest one last week it still works but i have to click above the customer now it seems to have gone out of line.

Still i always print a work list off also so just work off of that.

Be handy if there was a mobile out though with a Palm operating system on.

The iphone is a brill bit of kit. My internet down at home at the moment so I'm typing this out on my iPhone. However the os on it is unique to the iPhone and ipod touch and therefor minority programs just won't get made for it.

It takes a great deal of time and effort to code an application for any mobile OS, the time a cost of development for this would run into many thousands, then you have the cost of ongoing support and integration into an exitings application.

The uptake of the Palm and WM versions have been slow and so at the moment the ROI does not seen worthwhile, however in the future if people are prepared to pay for it then it will get done.

its a possibility if anyone knows an apple wiz kid, they offer iphone software for "software developers"
personally as a newbie, i use my mac calender for all my appointments which can be entered as weekly/4 weekly etc, then when sync the iphone, hey presto its all there.
you can also put notes on calendar entries, so i put the price i charge each customer with each appointment i enter.
New 3.0 software update is due in the next few months.
