anyone heard this explanation of fabric and if yes, can you explain it and its cleaning potential?

It refers to the fabric wear test, ie 20,000 - 30,000 rubs before damage occurs. This is the
standard at which general domestic usage is gauged.

sounds like[rub test] one of many tests carried out to finished facbrics to test durability.

You can see a rub test in IKEA. Upholstery fabrics are rated this way for wearability
