Hi Guys
I have been given information which shows Solution UK applied for voluntary liquidation on the 16 th of April.
This may mean that any warranties are invalid.
Has anyone heard anymore on this ?
Cheers

I can't respond exactly to the question Doug, but from my conversations with both Nick Vousden White and John Gott prior to the new business arrangement, I'm of the opinion that the new business is taking on all the trading obligations of the former Solution UK.
A good example is the forthcoming 3 day IICRC Rug Cleaning Course. I, like most others, paid for this course to the former Solution UK. All obligations to the course and the delegates are still being met.
Further, I can't imagine that Cross American would still be as enthusiastic as ever to continue their working relationship with the new company if their brand was tarnished in any way with the new company structure.
Just my view.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Hi Ken
Presumably the debts are being written off, otherwise there would be little point in liquidation.
It would be useful if someone within the new organisation would clarify the new companies position, as we were initially led to believe that it was a coming together of like minded people, although the grapevine indicated Solutions was going bust.
I understanfd there have been problems in getting parts for the Scorpion from the US, was this linked to the impending liquidation ?
There are a lot of questions which old and prospective customers would want answered and an honest clarification would be in CC's interest.
Cheers

Back on the 18th March when he announced the merger with Hydramaster, Nick signed himself as "Chairman & Managing Director Solutions ( Cornwall) Ltd" on the bottom of a post on Cleantalk.
I just had a cheque returned payable to Solutions UK Ltd - should have been payable to Solutions (Cornwall) Ltd.
-
Hi Guys
Just had a good chat with Nick who has confirmed that Solution Cornwall Ltd has bought the assets of Solution UK and that all warranties will be 100% honoured.
Nick was very clear on this and that is good news for all concerned.
Hydramaster (John Gotts) have a 40 % stake in the new company and Steve Carpeneter is also a director.

one company goes and another starts up with the same people and a slightly different name.
how many times have I seen that on BBC1 Watchdog ::) ::)
-
Hi Mike
The directors are slightly different in that John Bolton is no longer one.
The counter argument is that this system allows entrepreneurs to fail but still ultimately succeed in creating wealth, the essence of capitalism.

personally i believe that when a company goes into voluntary liquidation debts are written off and then restarted under dif name is morally wrong and makes a mockary of business. at the end of the day a debt is a debt. and even in some cases directors actually walk away with vasts sums of what should be others hard earned cash.
So what was the talk of hydramaster goin in with solutions is this no longer or are we about to see a buy out

Not an honest way really ::)

Exactly my thoughts Clinton, its a joke. Make no wonder the country is in the state its in.

What about all the creditors, will they be paid?
If a company starts up with the same directors and buys the old company assets at a knock down price then if not illegal in my book it's immoral.
Say you did a commercial job and they did the same leaving you a few grand down yet effectively starting over I know what I'd want to do to them.

We lost about £3k recently when a training provider stopped trading under rules which allowed the assets to be transferred without the liability.
This is a very attractive way of " another " taking over an existing business allowing the " outgoing " directors to retain their ill gotten gains and the " incoming " people to get an existing business on the cheap.
Don't have the details .....................but in our case we got nothing back and a new provider has to be found to take on our managers who are about one third of the way through the course.
Our loss is about £2k and there is nothing available for creditors
The liquidators fee was £7000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not suggesting this scenario is what's happened at Solutions
remember the term........it's called " prepack "

Got to say I'm not very comfortable with this and as someone who has recently forked out a large enough amount of money on the Scorpian I would like some assurances on service and warantee issues.
So you re-name the business, keep the assetts but write off the debts. So who has been dumped on by Solutions?

WHEN THE ONE MAN BANDS GO UNDER WE OWE PENNIES; WHEN THE BIG BOYS GO THEY OWE THOUSANDS, SO DO THESE BIG BOYS LIVE BEYOND THERE MEANS

We got stung towards the end of last year for over £1000 by a building company who did exactly the same as what Solutions appear to have done, we got a letter saying that they had gone into liquidation, got letter stating all creditors, total owing £719,000 !!!
They are now back up and trading again under a name that looks very similar but with a couple of letters changed around. The 2 directors are still driving their Audi A5's !! P!ssed off ........... just slightly, I'll never deal with them again.

Sorry to hear about your loss, but I think we all need to change our mind set in these times.
Check out their credit rating no one would give me credit or cash without it,you can even insure against loss.
we can change our payment terms, payment in 14 or 7days with a discount,or like the commercial customer I booked in on Friday I just said I expected payment on completion which was agreed.
If they have not got the money before you do the job how come they will have it in say 30 days ?
I do'nt like working for nothing so check out if you want to business with them first, and of course cash is king. ::)

Think its one of the reasons that i changed my mind about buying a scorpion as i did hear of the problems and didnt fancy forking out 3 and a half k and having to wait 4 to 6 weeks for the delivery ::)
-
I got stung for £8k a while back. Dont do any work now unless they are prepared to pay, the day the job is completed.
The person who owed me the money conveniently had all their assets in someone elses name!!!

As frequently happens in situations like this, many people are PRESUMING a lot without any actual knowledge. It's a bit like having a trial my media.
I have had a good working and personal relationship with all the personalities in the Solution and HydraMaster situation being discussed here, and have been involved in conversations which contained priviledged information. There are many comments above that are way off the mark.
Don't presume. If you don't know the facts it may be wiser not to comment. Every case is different.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Hi Guys
Ken is right, there is too much presumption, provided no CC has been disadvantaged by this then that is all that really concerns us.
I started this topic to clarify the warranty issue and as this has been done, I am now locking before it gets out of hand.
Thanks
Doug
