Anyone got any pics of how they have fitted a flat tank in a Merc Vito? (2006) or any suggestions on how to go about it.
Also did you take the wooden floor out and how easy was it?
I protekta coated my last van and want to do the same but the wooden floor on the vito looks like it's a permanent fixture. Could the floor be coated and all the edges be sealed. :-\
Help anyone?

If the floor is bone dry seal all the edges and then protecta cote it.

this is exactly what i have done to my van
I sealed all the edges with self adhesive lead flashing tape that you buy from the roofing section in diy stores and then protectakoted over the whole lot.

I wouldn't bother with protektacote & would strap the tank in.
Had my van wfp for 5 years, lifted the ply floor liner last year to renew it as it was rotten. the van floor underneith was still like brand new, no rust, paint bubbles or anything! ;)

Any Vito drivers actually removed the wooden floor?

I have. It was a bit of a pig to get out if I am honest. I had to cut the end corner pieces off each side to get it out.

Mike was there anything underneath the floor when you removed it? I read recently that someone said there was a wiring loom underneath. ???
Didn't quite know what they meant, but find it hard to imagine there would be anything directly underneath the ply floor.
Thanks

you mean avatar lol ;D ;D
i have a vito and i too removed the plylining it was a bit of a pig to get out as i had to remove the fitted rear seats but worth it in the end
mines a 500 litre upright fitted by purefreedom
i too have heard there is a wiring loom underneath the ply on the newer shape vans

Yeah the wires for the rear lights are under the ply. You might need to cover them with something if you remove the ply

Think I've sussed a way round it now. I have a flat tank and can partition the floor with protekta coat from the tank to the tailgate using a divider.
Seal all around the wheel arch covers, and up to the divider. As only the rear of the floor really gets water on it, drips from brushes and hose reel etc: I think this could work out OK.
Until I leave the water on when filling the tank :o
Thanks for the advice all. Including Mr Warford the Dude :-*
