does anybody know of a knee pad or similar thing which give you added grip when on a glass conservatory roof
-
Didn't know a glass conservatory roof could be walked/kneeled on
-
Why would you want to climb on conservatory roof, too dangerous
-
omg some ppl are crazy :o
-
I spoke to a guy that supplies and builds conservitorys and said you can walk on the glass roofs,NO THANKS I replied!
-
There is no way i would walk on the roof of a conservatory, imagine telling you insurance company after you go through or slip on wet glass roof... they would laugh at your claim
-
WFP IT BEST YOU CAN!!!

As a means of escaping a burning house maybe on a one off basis...perhaps.
For any other reason a big big NO
-
Good luck explaining that to your insurer when something goes wrong.
I can see the look on their faces ; you did what?! :o
-
I wouldn't want to slip on a wet sloping roof onto the ridge cappings. You'd impale yourself!

the answer to why im looking for knee pads which give extra grip, is for use of doing repairs and extra detail in fine cleaning on large commercial and domestic glass conservatory roof , were sometimes it required you need to kneel down on your knees , pad would give extra grip ive cleaned and repaired many roofs without braking glass which has been toughened
-
if i get any il pass em on to you :o :o :o :o

There are proper conservatory ladders available either buy or hire.
Doesn't matter what type of glass it is, you could fall through taking the whole section with you or damage the frame. Damaging the frame will cost a lot more than just falling through taking the glass with you.
I know someopne with experience of this. The whole thing had to be taken apa\rt and rebuilt again.
It's your call, but I think the majority on here are saying the same thing.

If you are an expert on this type of specialist high risk work, which I can only asume you must be as you are refering to repairing conservatories ,why are you asking this question on a window cleaning forum.
Their are many specialist glazing contractors sites and magazines and probably forums, which I am sure would be better suited to advise you.

this is a quote from anglian windows
you or your window cleaner can safely walk on the glass to clean it ::)
my reply to custy was well you clean it or get anglian to clean it :)
-
Was in B&Q earlier, they sell 3 different types of pads in there, including GEL pads. Good luck.
-
Why don't you go the whole hog, and get a pair of spider man suction cups.
That'll give you better grip, even be able to clean the inside roof panels, without the use of steps. ;D ;D
-
lol
-
This would be stupid and dangerous to do.
Get a proper conservatory roof ladder and do the job safely
-
lads before you slate the guy i used to do curtain wall glazing in the early ninetys and we walked all over glass roofs although admittedly not conservatorys. it was usually shopping centre roofs ie they stupid pyramid things that are near on impossible to clean, so maybe he knows what hes talking about and hes after a bit of advice and not a lecture
-
ar them knee pads any good for carpet burns .only joking guys .but imagine falling through roof n some mad dog in house .or locked in n u have to phone the police .
-
