Title: Chemical for cleaning brick pollution
Post by: Seers on April 23, 2009, 10:24:28 pm
Hi,

A second job in a week has come in where we need to remove a build of dirt/pollution/roof run on brickwork. Although pressure washing should remove it I don't want to damage the pointing if possible.

Does anyone know a chemical which can be used and then rinsed off to remove staining? Rather than aggressively pressure jetting. Have looked on the net with no real luck.

Cheers,

Huw.

Take alook at Remmers, as well as the usual chemicals, they also supply a latex based peel off chemical.

Hi,

Nice one Andy, had forgotten about tensid, we almost had a demo of one of their pressure washers a couple of years ago. Looking at their website they've got some great products. Do you use their brick acid alternative?

Cheers,

Huw.

Their products are great.
Haven't used the brick acid though.

I have used the HD Restoration cleaner, masonry prewash and paint stripper... really good!

You need to PPE up though.

Cheers

Andy

Hi,

I guess the HD restorer would work a treat on the black marks?
