Title: Little tip for Wagtail users on shops
Post by: M Henderson on April 23, 2009, 06:37:00 pm
I clean shops and find Wagtails are great, as Tosh was saying in another thread, much better than A frames.

Just wanted to share a little tip for the wagtail users that use them on shops:

I like to carry a short little two foot Unger pole with a cranked angle adaptor on the end.
The short pole is easier to manage without knocking over the manequins and stuff -
(Only a muppet would knock over a manequin in a shop display  ;)  ;D )

The tip is to have a cranked angle adaptor on the end of the pole which can be straight most of the time, but if you need to work the window from a slight distance over a display or whatever put a slight angle on the adaptor and put the wagtail on it the opposite way you would if you were going to use the adaptor to reach over a window sill.

The best way I can think to explain it is to look at the shape of your arm when you squeegee normally. Imagine the pole is your bicep, the angle adaptor your forearm, the wagtail your wrist.

Try it, you'll be surprised at how easy it is to turn the blade on the window from a couple of feet away (over displays etc.) It's like a robotic arm!
