Title: Price of Tucker brushes?
Post by: Nathanael Jones on April 22, 2009, 09:34:12 pm
I just got a price for a 12" DT tucker brush from a local supplier,.. and I was shocked! I thought Gardiners brushes were a bit on the steep side, but this was quite a bit more again!

Is my supplier ripping me off,.. or are they just that expensive?

Sounds good to me!
What would postage cost, as I'm in the South of Ireland?

If you think Superlites are expensive buy an autobrush,  £80 odd with vat and postage.  But not knocking it. Prefer Superlite though.

Can you rinse on with Tucker? Or are they too thickly bristled?

I had one of them,.. the actual brush is very cheap,.. I can get them for about €12 each at a local supplier. They do a great job too,.. but HEAVY isn't the word!!!

Apparently the newer ones are lighter tho?

That's pretty much what I've been quoted,... I know they're good, but it strikes me as extortion none the less!

does that price include the jets because they dont come with the brush and there is no threaded  head stock on the brush either  so that will have to be brought as well or diyed from a broom head stock.  :'(

sorry,
just looked at last years tucker parts catalogue,
 12" dt brush with head( which incl jets)  :  £54.54 + vat & p+p

when i brought mine last year, i just brought the brush on its own and fitted my own head and jets.

I love the SL brushes,.. but hot water does reduce their life span. :(
