Hi, I am looking for ex franchises from Oven Clean ltd or unhappy Oven Clean franchisees. I had an Franchise from them and got ripped of but I know run my own successful oven cleaning company. I have some information regarding the restraints in thier Franchise agreement that will be of use to you , so if you are out there please contact me. Or If anybody else is thinking of starting thier own oven cleaning business i can be of help, I have over 6 years experiance in the domestic oven cleaning business ;D

hi jamie, you have been busy hehe, cheers for coming to court today regarding ovenclean, and i think the only avenue now is a group court action against them. i will seek advice as wether i can publish the judgement on this site for others to read (for educational purposes of course) or for avoiding certain oven cleaning companies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i bought an oven clean franchise for £12000, i would have been better of if i had placed a bet on stevie wonder winning the masters golf tournament 3 years in a row.

Oven Clean have blighted my existence - they don't stick to their own contracts yet expect you to. I'm definitely up for a Class Action!

Welcome Mr Brighter Ovens perhaps a good example as why it is not wise to reveal who you are.
One of the questions that is often asked is where can you buy and what is the best Chemical and what other equipment do you use?
Sorry to hear of your problems , looking at The Franchise mags you would think Oven Cleaning had taken over from Carpet Cleaning

I am interested in oven cleaning as an add on to my business.
I would like to speak to you about this.

I have on ovenclean franchise but may want to break away, if you have any info how to break away without costing me a fortune let me know. I want to continue doing this business

I looked into ovenclean as a business but was put off in a big way by franchisees! They were not happy bunnies!
I would certainly consider doing oven cleans, and would greatly appreciate any help or advice you can give me.

if you bought an ovenclean franchise youll realise the contract is worth less that a tacky daily paper!!!! having been to court regarding ovenclean, firstly, the bit about if you work out of your contractual area youll lose your franchise is bull@@@@!!, they cannot enforce the withdrawl of a contract for working outside your area ONLY if the work your doing was from a friend, colleague etc etc, ie you are not aloud to advertise your services outside of your area, this advice came from a very well known solicitor based in lincolns inn field in London. and secondly, the bit about not paying franchise fees. THEY CANNOT chase/sue/threaten you for the "rest of the contractual term" if the "co" end the agreement then you owe upto the cuttof period, usually 28 days, THEN you can start up where you like, when you like AS LONG as you dont follow the same/identical formula the franchisee taught you in your training!!! this too has been verified by the same soloicitor in london, his name is available for anyone needing more help in avoiding the cowboys who sadly prey on us to fulfill their dreams.....how sad !!! ide rather be poor

It looks like you have had a right fight on your hands. I hope its not cost you to much and that you have accheived your goals. I dont supose you would like to tell us what system they use? or are you prevented? would be very interested to know what chemical is used?
Kind regards Phil

We looked into buying an ovenclean franchise, all looked good and impressive, I decided to "go for it", handed in my notice at work.
Rang some existing franchisees.........alarm bells should've rang as most said they struggled at best, or said they weren't allowed to speak without Ovencleans permission!
Anyway, we decided to go have a look around the area on offer-lo and behold there was an Ovenclean van working the patch! Spoke to the guy (nice bloke) told us he was desperate to get out, been with them 3 years, had 2 more to go on his contract paying them £600 per month. Working outside his patch just trying to get them to kick him out for breach of contract.
Dropped the idea like a stone. Starting my own exterior cleaning business as from today, not gonna give my hard earned money to any Franchise leeches.
-
hi i would be very interested in who the "nice bloke" was, ill same him the grief of waiting two years paying the "@@ss take" monthly franchise fee, as far as him working out of his area, as long as he didnt advertise in that area, "he can do what he likes", as long as he uses the same methods and training as he did in hes own area
-
we paid 12 grand for an ovenclean franchise, we were lied to, shown false and misleading figures and not to mention the "lack of" support from head office
-
the guy who bought "nearly" bought an ovenclean franchise........phew!!!!! you deserve a big bottle of champagne. Youde of had better luck buying the cost of the franchise fee in lotto hotpicks !!! youde of hit the jackpot! (with a lotto hotpick!!)

Dear Jamie,
I was interested in your post, as we seem to have had the same problems as yourself.
We would be very interested to know how we could "legally" break this agreement, as we have already been to a solicitor to seek his advice.
