This one's the same as provided by a well known supplier but it's two hundred pounds lighter (on your wallet).
You won't be trundling a 5kva generator very far on your own though. ;D

We have not supplied Loncin for over six months.
We now only supply 5k Stephill generators at cost price to guttervac purchasers.
This is the same generator that the major hire shops use due to its reliability.
-
Still sell the larger one I see ;D http://www.omni-guttervac.com/comprehensive_system.html
Come on Glynis, sort your website out you've still got a man pressure washing laying down ???

Whats the weight of them Glyn ? it is weight factor over price on this part

I think you'll find most are heading for seventy kilos plus fuel and oil and battery when you get to 5kva. Obviously Honda engines are the best. Don't know what omnipole sell but here's one. http://www.justgenerators.co.uk/pages/Stephill_5000HM.htm

you SHOULD not expect 1 of your lads to move a 5kva generator, fair too heavy
i thought you would be up on your H&S as you employ

I've a 6.5kva stephill.. Superb machine. Starts frst pull every time.. Money very well spent in my opinion.. Consider it an investment..

I was asking if there are lighter ones available matt so please back off on the sarky comments :P
I was not thinking of my guys using it, it is for me I have to do something with my time ::).
If they do weigh this much maybe I will have to rethink a few things because I cant/won't move 70+kg all the time on my own I value my back

5KVA Stephill's weight is 59Kg
For gutter cleaning work a wheel kit is essential

ok next thing, can a generator not just be left in the van? This would solve half the problem
-
I run mine from a trailer. You could run one in your van if you can put up with the exhaust fumes. Probably best to bolt it down too.
-
i had a trailer for my generator which had its perks- detachable, downfalls - storage, speed limit on motor way, theft, maintenance of trailer, parking,
I have since got a new van and leave the generator in the van, the way the loncin is designed when placed on the right hand side of the van, the key start and sockets face the middle of the van and the exhaust faces straight out the back doors, i have run it off 100m extension cable with no problems which should do most jobs

no sarky comments, i was just saying, you should not expect staff to lift a 5kva generator, and as a employer its your responsibility

Yes it can, the generator should be positioned with the exhaust facing out of the doors.

I have a vent in the roof is this possible to use so I can lock the van up ??
