What do you think?
I imagine its more of a summer thing like driveways pations etc.
-
domestic why im starting though!
-
Its more of a winter thing IME, once the leaves are down they then want them cleaned out, thats when you also offer the cleaning 'OFF' option.
-
Can be done, especially if you fit and repair them too. We have a small company in our area who do just that, mostly cleaning.
There's also quite a lot of competition popping up at the moment so wether there is enough work to go round remains to be seen.
-
I quoted and got a job tonight but I think I priced to cheap.
It will take me an hour I priced at £30 but its one of them jobs that should be a premium charge.
How much would it cost me for a standard gutter vac setup?
cheers guys
-
As their are 26,000,000 homes and millions of commercial premises I have total confidence that there is plenty of work to go round.
Adam
If you email me I will email you our latest brochure and price list.

theres a company here in ireland called sure clean they do a gutter vac and ur talking a minimum of 1500 for the whole set-up including small generator and poles to reach up to gutter,
ive seen a few posts on here about some setting up a diy gutter vac and doesnt seem awfully hard to do. the main component of the gutter vac is a large industrial hoover.
however there are a few companies over in england who sell gutter vacs, think brodex and omnipole and few others, u'd needa shop around.
i have a few customers recently looking their gutters cleaned but as most have said its normally coming into the summer months that they want them cleaned out and the pvc fascia all spruced up in time for the bbq's.

There you go Adam, buy yourself one (top of the range) take out a massive loan, buy a van and have it wrapped, take out another loan and get a generator, biggest tank and ro unit you can buy you will look so professional that 20,000,000 home owners will be fighting for your services. ;D ;D ;D
Or, take your time, get a good window cleaning round under your belt first, test the market and decide what you want to do. ;)
You'll also find it's a rather large generator you'll need - so heavy that you won't be tossing it in and out of the van every job.
-
Well im off door knocking at 4 so see what happens :)
Im not sure what is best to invest in! Im not offering the windows anymore I want to do other areas.
Gutters is one as well as conservatorys.
But I think another bow and all that which im sure patios would be better over gutter vav for the time being!
what do you guys think?

windows....windows....windows the other stuff will come with it as you go, get some Windows done slips made up and on them put we also do Gutters, fascias etc etc, window cleaning is the cheapest set up out of all of them, get a good customer base, and do the rest as add ons to it, the other stuff will be continuas advertising as a lot more people want w/c and youll get seen more.

Not going to touch the windows now. Been warned off them so would rather pass that work on and vice versa.

ummm seems to be the message coming across.
Maybe I should think about that then. Im going to start a new thread. I dont fancy ladders but I dont want a big setup to start either.
-
anybody near oxfordshire mind me tagging along with them for the day?
-
If that bloke said to you hed pass on the con cleans to you if you stay of the windows this would of suggested to me where the money comes in, he knows he wont be passing any onto you, but feels threated by you cleaning windows **** that mate your in a good month now to really get going, this time last year I started, its tough to start but once through the 1st 12 months it gets easier, recomendations, calls from leaflets i dropped 8 months ago, you wont look back mate and in a years time youll be saying the same as me to a newbie. Just let him know you wont intentionally take any of his work. Good luck mate.
