Is it just me or has anyone else noticed a decline in mobile signal strength?
I'm sure most of us use mobiles on hands free whilest driving around and a few will know the black spot areas where the signal falls away so bad you the call your taking gets dropped.
My black spot areas for the last 8 years have always been the same and I always advise customers that Im going to lose them as I enter these poor signal areas.
But for the last 4-5months I cant even drive a couple of miles without hitting a blackspot or having real trouble with poor reception. I,m forever shouting on the mobile or hearing small parts of what people are trying to say.
Im getting really p***** off with it to say the leased with all these calls that are getting dropped.
Anyone else having or had the same trouble?
Cheers

I must say, I think diverted calls are a bit iffy to say the least, I sometimes wonder if having divert on is worst than leaving a message to call the mobile.
You sure it's not your phone thats playing up Peter? try swapping your phone, it will also depend what network your on.
I think 02 and orange have the best satelite coverage.

over the past few weeks i keep getting the message
NO SERVICE even though the signal strenth is fine
turn it off , leave 5 mins and reboot it and it seems fine, bloody annoying though
mine is on the 02 network

I'm on O2 and I'm having the same problems.

Do they all share the same signals i wonder ???
Or the same lines etc just bet we dont know ???

I think the Government are probably bleeding the nation's signal strength due to testing some in newfangled CCTV spy package that can see us anytime anywhere.
A bit like Noels House-Party a few years back!
Come in Big Brother :o

Wasn't all that long ago that the networks paid £1 billion for the digital network.

Current atmospheric conditions are likely to play a part in this.
You should get up to speed again when the weather changes

But the weather is great at the minute...............

Are you a politician?

Exactly Ian. Once it starts peeing down again reception will be A1
-
I've heard it said (if you pardon the pun) that because phones have been getting smaller there is less space in them for a good arial.
I'm going for a slightly bigger phone in the next week or so. I'll be interesting to see if reception around the house once again improves.

I went to the Gadget Show on friday at the NEC and they had a stand with all of the old stuff like Atari game stations and ZX Spectrum I actually won at Scramble ;D miss spent youth! but they had my old style mobile phone it had the best reception I have ever had although it was a bit heavy.

Colin, Shaun,
That’s funny, i'm with 02 as well.
Does your phone read "Limited Service" quite often?
02 are definitely upto something at the moment. ???

My mate is into the conspirancy theories, apparently big brother watches our interenet activities all of the time aswell as listening in to our telephone conversations and also can see us from our tv's and web cams.
Derek stop picking your nose!!

Change to Vodaphone, they have 99% coverage and I have never had a problem unless I am in a cottage with 2ft thick stone walls!!
-
Yes Vodaphone for me and hardly ever have a problem, it's usually the person phoning with the problem.
I go up into N.Yorks sometimes and the signal can be a bit iffy but then the radio signal and TV reception up there are sometimes a bit iffy.

And what would big brother think of all these strange men with long hoses who hunch over keyboards and bright monitors and compare their suction power, and talk about what makes a good scrubber and how good they are at mounting trucks :o
-
There is a system in place that 'listens' for keywords on ALL telephone conversations and is then screened by a human operator somewhere deep in Virginia, allegedly.
Even if you are paranoid, it still doesn't mean there isn't someone watching you. ;)
