Hi guys an girls hope someone can help please, im employing someone part time 15 hours per week (3 a day over 5 days) and was wondering if anyone knows what the holiday minimum entitlement is for there contract please? thanks in advance

Everyone is entitled to holiday pay now...
A part-time worker is entitled to 5.6 weeks' holiday – 5.6 of there normal working week. For example, if they work two days a week week they would be entitled to 11.2 days' annual leave a year:
2 days x 5.6 weeks = 11.2 days
See the business link site for more info ;)

Thanks Chris for bringing to my attention that as from April 1st holiday entitlement has gone up to, as you say, 5.6 weeks (28 days) from 4.3 weeks (24 days).

Joe :o you have to be kidding
not that i regrudge hols pay
but our custys are stretched to the limit and winning new contracts on a fine line budget and getting net profit is getting harder

Wish I was kidding but thats the score.
I have a client who we clean her house every week, total 6.5 hours.
I pay my cleaners in excess of national min wages but have to increase the clients rate annually to keep ahead of the NMW.
This client wont up her standing order, refuses to reply to my letters, and whenever I ring she is engaged.
Dont want to just pull the plug but apart from knocking on the door I am flumoxed as to what to do next.
