I think it stinks that you've reprinted material on this forum Kev. Yeah you had a bee in your bonnet. You also agreed to the conditions of membership. One of those conditions was not to share the material unless you were a paid up member.

It saddens me...

I hope the moderator here has the decency to remove the pictures.

Whether you agreed with the marketing techniques of the WCC or not,it is not fair that you publish material without his consent on an open forum.
The guy offered and still does advice to people who want to take it,and i am not one of those ,but find it wrong that this forum allows you to post these pictures of something the guy has sat down and thought about.
If the moderators had a shred of sense they would remove them.

Well it all goes to show his ideas work because he sucked Kev R in very easily, within minutes of posting on this forum.

Kevin
You went the wrong way about posting.
You should have entitled it DIY Window Cleaning Coach then you would have recieved praise rather than objections.

Hi Guys Kev has done nothing wrong by showing that piece - its on the free section that anyone can view member or not. I too joined his forum after his promises but it has dried up as Kev says. There is nothing on the site that you cannot get out of a good marketing book. Those snazzy pieces do not work on the UK public, i tried and had no more success than my cheapo Do ya need a window cleaner jobs.

I too signed up for the Window Cleaning Coach (funnily enough on the advice of Kev Red  ;) )

But I found the content too Americanised for my taste and I suspect for my potential customers - I mean which customer is going to want a DVD of me walking around there property whilst I'm quoting it!

I only really signed up to see the idea about the advert for a 'UPVC Blitz' but couldn't find it!

Kev would you mind if I emailed you directly about it?

Regards

Al

it is hardly a surprise that its too American'ised ( or canadian'ised for that matter )

the whole concept started out as american as levi jeans  ::)

i ordered some " coached style flyers " with the idea of testing them against my " bog standard, you want a window cleaner "  when i was recovering from my hernia op ( 1 type either side of the road )

i never got them out though

I don't know what all the worry is over this - the guy has some good ideas but they are more targetted to high value sales. The twice annual window and "eavestrough" (gutter) clean which is a North American thing is a higher perceived ticket item than my £12 a month custy.

I think the point is:- to do something!

I know many of us can "do something" so let's do it.

i remember reading  Kev that you had 47 enquiries  from an add suggested or taken from a template from wcbc... thats good isnt it ??? surerly a bit of discresion in your opinions is owwed to the  good advice given by him .... how would you feel in his position if you had helped someone in a big way and then found that the person you helped had dissed you on a public forum... like you said in your own words you took what was free... now personally i didnt sign up for anything because i felt it wasnt the direction i was going , buitb i still think the wcbc had a good angle ...  you took it.... beneffited ..., and then dissed him....whats that about?

With all types of advertising whether you have a basic or a fanastically setout leaflet, you will have peaks and troughs on the response of work that they generate.

For instance I have posted 100 leaflets and had over 20 calls, :) I then dropped another 2000 in the same area and the response was zero. ???

I have also canvassed an estate, on every house it was "No Thank You" :'( I then went into a cul-de-sac with only 30 or so houses and got 12 jobs  :)

I have used many many diferent types of leaflets over the years and I have come to the conclusion thats its a numbers game, the more leaflets you get out in the public domain the more work you will get.

The best type of leaflet that I find work well is the one that is professionally printed, is short on words and to the point and has a picture.

The reason why is because when someone gets a leaflet though their door, their first reaction is to give it a quick look then screw it up and bin it, but if you have a picture of your services this will draw their attention to your leaflet for them to read it, the message you want to impart should be short and too the point, no one wants to be reading a book when a few words can say the same message and make sure your leaflet is printed professionally because this says a lot about your company.

But if you want to really increase your customer base then the only way to do this is, you need to promote your business at every opportunity, door knock and leaflet all the time, get your excisting customers to reccommend you to their neighbours, friends and family.

But remember one thing, to build a really sucessfull business, takes time, so don't let it stress you out. 8)

The sad thing about that is you also wiped my earnest contributions to your forum, pity you couldnt have given us notice of your intent so that I could have copied and pasted them somewhere safe.
