Never done one but there will be a few on here that have.
Problem seems to be a reliable power source on sites to feed a machine.

i've cleaned a few caravans, one i remember was in a place called romney marsh. could'nt get me machine in the front door, because the door was to small, got stuck in the mud & a tractor had to pull me out... & it was absolutely chucking it down... it was a 3 bedroom static caravan, all the furniture & beds were screwed down, could'nt move much around...  was paid £175- for the job.. charlie ;D

I actually have one and when I'm at it i.e. most w/e's I usually take the gear up and sometimes get the odd person asking me if I can do theres for them.
You can do one comfortably in less than an hour, carpets that is, and I charge them £30.
Don't forget though that I am already on the site so no travelling time to take into consideration.

Joe
Regards the power supply there's no problem on most sites with statics as they are mains connected, same with the water and just about every one will have a boiler.
Never done the upholstery but I reckon 2 hours tops for carpets and upholstery and that's taking it easy, cup of tea etc.

They paid you £175 for carpets in a static??
Must have been a big one.
The ones where I go are approx 40sq m in total area and you'll probably find less than 20sq m of carpet to clean.

jands, it was a long one, i cleaned the seating areas as well... was all priced over the phone by me wife... she prices up all my work, and i have to be honest, on alot of jobs i've gone to do that my wife has priced up, i would have done the work cheaper. my wife is very skilled in selling my services to customers... charlie

We've got a 3 bed static on a site in Dorset. The site if I let them  ;D would charge me £40 to do all the carpets.
I like the idea of taking a machine down to do my own but i don't think I can get the Scorpian in the BMW with the rather large GSD 8)

Can't imagine that you'd get good money regularly for caravans, I'd have thought £60 for carpets would be a good figure to sell at extra for upholstery.

Don't know about prices now, but early 90's when I lived in Devon, we did 4 or 5 caravan/camp sites & we charged about £30 for carpets & £20 for seating.  Also £30 for powerwashing caravan exteriors.

To be honest, generally there is not that much carpet and most of the upholstery is flat - I would estimate a 2 bed at around £85 for both carpets and upholstery as timewise you are looking at less than 2 hours.   Plus, if you are on a site and have more to do, there is no extra tavelling time.

I used a portable at the time - just left it outside caravan, worked with very few problems.  For anyone doing it today, I would recommend a TM, standard floor wand, hand tool and stair tool for nooks & crannies.    It really is easy money if you can get a number to do.  Also these jobs on sites are done before the season starts and can give a good early boost to the year.

I did 54 of them in three days. Money is lower than anyone has dared to suggest on here. I have the TM which helps. They told me what they were prepared to pay. All I needed to say was yes or no. I took the job on the understanding that I could have unlimited access. I could do about 4 or 4 before moving the van. Back breaking work.

Now in the middle of 70ish Chalets on the same site. :'(

If your there already I reckon £60 for carpets and upholstery.
I'm putting a sign up with carpets @ £30 and upholstery at £30 have both done at same time £55.
It's an hour and a half of work at the most so no need to be greedy, plus I'm there anyway so no travelling or diesel.
Most of the ones on my site are privately owned anyway and your not allowed to rent them out.
He does have a few holiday caravans which he rents out but does his own.

You can see how the sign works for you i guess and see how it goes..

You can get £55 an hour if you are working 8 hours and it makes a tidy sum, if you are mobile going from job to job apart from the extra fuel out goings the travelling time is a none earner.

There's a caravan park home in the south of Sheffield and I cleaned a couple, they were nice ones though and quite big, big enough to have free standing upholstery.

There used to be a big caravan park on the way into Doncaster but they were moved on when they built B&Q, probably too many tires being burned ;D

I'd say that 99% of the population don't want Man Utd to win the league again, so it's Liverpool for me.

Fantastic place, usually fly from east midlands or manchester but doncaster was only a bit more expensive and when we checked out to go home we walked off the plane and were straight to our cases which were waiting on the carousel then walked to car and was home in 45 mins from plane to door, bet you can't do that from Stockport.

Flew to Corfu many many years ago from Liverpool. At the end of the holiday the Taxi brought us to Corfu airport.  2 planes sitting on the tarmac. One for Liverpool one for Manchester. We'd just got into the departure lounge when the tannoy came to life.

"This is the captain of the Liverpool flight. I know all my passengers are now in the airport. We won't bother to wait for our normal departure time, we'll go now"

AS there were only 8 passengers on the plane :o :it didn't take very long to get our luggage when we arrived home.

Thus from leaving the hotel to putting the kettle on at home took 5 hours :o :o

Wish travelling now was as easy and quick as it was then :'(

Clinton

In modern times the quickest I've ever got through an airport was when Nurse Carpet and I flew to New York in 2002.

From stepping through the door of the plane to putting the luggage in the taxi only took 15 minutes. And that included clearing US immigration and customs. :o

The luggage was actually waiting for us on the carousel :o

Mind you we did have the red carpet treatment as we had flown in on Concorde (brag, brag) ;D ;D

Once had to wait in a Turkish airport 19 hours as the plane wasn't there, they wouldn't let it in as the staff were on strike but the holiday company didn't tell us about it as they wanted us to be where they wanted, and out of the EU there were no freebies.

Now here's an interesting statistic.

At least 13 of my clients have flown on Concorde. 14 if you include me.

I think that proves that my client base is moving in the right circles.

Most have been scrapped as they were too expensive to fly and also they were getting too old, I believe that they are in museums now which is a shame.
