Hi guys
I'm thinking about buying a sl-x pole but wanted to see 1 before i buy just to see what they are like. Is there any 1 in the brighton & hove area that has 1 where i can have a quick look at it before i buy one????
-
well i would just buy one
reason i say this is Ive build a fare few poles over the years and altered a few, i built my first modular pole two an a half years ago it was a good learning curve since then i have built a few and i was always unsure of the slx when it first came out, also i thought it might be to fragile as it would need to be quite thin walled to keep the weight down, i watched a listened to people buying them waiting for there comments good or bad, Alex then came out with a bigger model and again i had my concerns, but feedback again surprised me,
so i went ahead and brought one and me being me took it completely apart and checked it over with i fine look and i can say through my own experience of carbon poles not just in wfp the slx is spot on good wall thickness good strength in sections, but if you are a real brute with your poles this wont last as long as you would hope i expect a few years use out of mine at-least, it comes with care instruction

If your ever in Eastbourne you can come and have a look (how do i say this without some funny remarks) pole.

I've just started week four with my new SL-X it's wonderful..... (I think that's a crate of Old Kernow Wrecker Peculiar Gnatterpissen you owe me Alex - Oh; I'm cheap!)
I was thinking today what could I do to improve it and could think of nothing. Being really anal err conscientious maybe instead of one red marker to show the limit of pole extension perhaps graduate it so that there is a green mark at the halfway point, an amber one at the three quarters and then the red one.
I bought the fibre glass extension too but have never had to use it yet and I rarely put on the largest standard section. In fact today I just ran with the first four sections and left five, six and the g/f extra extension in the van.

the traffic light effect green amber an red for dont extend anymore, its called the traffic light ???

How could it be improved umm, good question. An aluminium butt ring for a start maybe with a plastic coating followed by a magic polish so the pole never scratches or wears, some anti-kink pole hose that never ever twists would be good. I might have to source a better protecta ball that never snags on corners of walls and tugs my trousers off. :o

An aluminium butt ring
FTP, there are specialist shops that can supply this you know. You can't expect Alex to pander to your fetishes. ;D

The whole post sounds like a fetish advert... ;D ;D never mind the Alu butt plug with magic polish to stop the scratches :o :o :o
I can just see the faces of the ladies at Gardiners when that email request comes in !
-
I did Google butt ring once - never again
-
I just looked at some pics of the SLX and it does look very smart - read somewhere there's a waiting list for these though?

There is a waiting list, if your name is not down then it is a free for all to get one and they sell out very fast. Next ones are meant to be in in may.... :'(

Excellent pole I have to say and very cleverly marketed too. Try and find an alternative of the same length, quality and price - you can't. ;)
