Title: colour fastness

hi all,

i know i should probably know this by now but just wanting to no what does it actually mean by "test for colour fastness" what am i surposed to be doing and looking for. i know am surposed to be testing a small part of the carpet but what do i do and look for.

As Derek says or put some prespray on a towl with something with a bit of weight to it and leave it tem minutes. Then see if any transfer.

Depending on what you are using, it's very rare to find a carpet with a loose dye.

yeah i know going to go on a proper course soon just been on a crappy one with a hangover lol but am learning all the time.

i agree do some training, forums are good for information resources but just goin in and cleaning without the correct hands on training will result in trouble. its all about procedure like with most procedures skip a step and you will jump two back.
