does anyone know of a way to clean old type lead windows, without using ladders?
we clean windows using wfp, but have found the old type of leaded windows leak.
is there a way around this?
regards, james.

Do a search on the forum, I answered this question a couple of days a go. :)

I've a fair bit of experience of these windows; there's no answer; they'll always leak) although I did find 3mm pencil jets better than 2mm pencil jets (which seem to be more like a 'power washer').
Why not offer to reduce your cleaning frequency and offer to clean outsides AND INSIDE; if you can price the account well enough.
If not, I'd avoid it. Handbashing real leaded windows isn't fun and you're always at risk of 'popping a pane out', if the windows are old.

Hi
I got a house with some old leaky lead windows.
1st. Customer knows and accepts they leak.
2nd. Get there early in the morning so any leaks have had all day to dry up.
3rd. Turn water flow down to minimum and reduce washing and rinsing time a little. They still come out fine - which probably means I generally spend too much time washing and rinsing on all my other customer's windows.
4th. Treat with care as some can be very fragile.
