Mark

Excellent day Mark as good as last year but bigger.
-
Very good day, and a very good night on the sunday :)
For carpet cleaners it was better than the cleaning show, and will grow next year i
would think.
Good talks, demos and a few new machines thrown in too.
Charity auction raised over 2k for macmillan trust.
Also witnessed a yorkshire man parting with wedge of cash, after fidgeting around in the back of a van with another man :o
Andrew
-
He was rushing me that's why I was unsettled, I don't usually spend that amount of money all at once... well really at all :o Had to have a good strong cup of tea after but bought by someone else ;D
Shaun

I was so shocked i took a photo, but cant open my email at mo to post it.

I whent to the cleaning show at the nec and there where more exhibitors and more machines and chemicals to see at the ccdo and just ordered the chemspec flexi 5 off john kelly after having a good play with one at the ccdo .
Will report on exactly what I think of it in a few weeks when I get it for anybody interested.

too right he can rattle more than my 6 year old daughter! saying that he says he wants to pick our brains for information I think it could be the other way round, did you see how the retaurant owner was ready to have his carpets cleaned by him?
Shaun
-
It did look good, I had a go with it and thought it moved around very easily, make a fantastic pile lifter too.
Nice to meet you Andy, why don't you speed talk in a high pitched voice like Billy?
Shaun
-
Nice to meet you too shaun think billy just has his thong a bit too tight and wont stop taking speed ;D ;)

I thought there was a technical issue with the Flexi 5. Has this been sorted?
I ask as I was seriously considering buying one.
I am sure that the same problem has lead to Solutions UK withdrawing their equivalent machine from sale.
Quote from John Bolton: -
"Despite a protracted development period, we became aware of certain intrinsic weaknesses with the machine and took the decision to withdraw it from sale until the problems were resolved.
Subsequently the manufacturers decided to withdraw the machine from market and none are currently being imported under any brand name".
-
There was no issue with the machine apart from the fact Solutions could not get them another example of Solutions misleading people :o
-
I do hope thats the truth steve as i would not think john Bolton is up to lieing .And would hate to see any Flexi 5 break down and not be covered in the future I looked at this machine four or five years ago at a show and the sale's man said then they were having a small problem with them Also that they were being made in china as far as i can remember Des
-
Des
Chemspec would not put their name to a machine with a built in flaw without fully testing them first. Its like everything Solution sold was always the best until it was no longer available to them to sell also don't forget JB was part of Solution in some sort of capacity so he was probably going off what he was told.
-
Hope they are ok I am just waiting for a new batch coming in to chemspec from abroad , dont want to pay 2 grand for something that f**ks up after a few months :o
Anyway I tend to agree with steve gunn dont think chemspec would sell something and have there reps demoing faulty goods and jk wouldnt endorse something he thought was faulty thats good enough for me.
Andy Locke.
-
Agree with steve and andy with the chemspec and would trust hem 100 pcnt :)
-
I was talking to a Flexi 5 buyer at the NEC who told me that there had been a problem with the Flexi 5 family and he knowingly bought one expecting a breakdown anytime, but it hadn't happend upto that point. He also told me that the component in question will be retro fitted when available.
The problem doesn't stop the machine, it's just a little inconvenient. I can't remember exactly what the problem was as my memory is going as I get even older :'( but it may be something to do with a cam or a micro switch ???
This all suggests to me that no one should have concerns about the back up support with these machines, regardless of who supplies them.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

You should have gone. Had a really great day
-
Whats a flexi 5.
Mark
-
Think of an Envirodri or TM4 with a vac attached. Use for dry compound cleaning, vacing, pile lifting, agitating pre-spray, encap cleaning.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Hi Guys
It was a really good couple of days, well three for me as I stayed to clean the carpets, bit of life left in the twilight geezer yet ;D
Ricky's observation is interesting though, I think a lot enter CC because they want to be their own boss, having seen the other side of life.
Cheers
Doug

I think the the flexi 5 is from the Fast company

Ricky ;D
Am near mid life too ;D
Think dougs right and many go into cc after working for someone else and not being happy in there work.
Sometimes i forget how lucky i am to have a good buisness and just answer to myself and earn good money and finish the working day after lunch :)

I've been in carpet cleaning from nearly the start of my career (18) although worked in a couple of professions inbetween and during, ie builder/labourer also accountant and a few other jobs but once you get into carpet cleaning there are very few that leave it, it become obsessive, hence forums.

No Tony You don't get it! People were saying that solutions have been lying about a part that was faulty from the chinese manufacturer, saying that the machine is built wherever but the thing is the machine may be built wherever but the parts that make up the machine come from wherever else.
I used to be an engineer for a well known boat builders that recently shut due to the three owners retiring. We built top knotch boats but hardly any of the components that came together to make that boat were british and of all the parts that were how much of there components were actually british.
So Tony before coming back at people with stupid comments like that, make sure you actually know what is being said.
By the way well done to the lads for organising another good event! was it any different to last years?
Cheers Goron

Hi Goron,
Thanks for your kind words :). Shame you couldnt make it, it was bigger, better and more organised than last year ;).
Ken Wainwright did talks on common mistakes made by carpet & upholstery cleaners, Doug did talks on stain removal and website search engine optimisation, Roger Peach (ex-bank manager) did a talk on cutting business bank account expenses as well as Pete with his Yell advertising advice and Paul (leather cleaning and repairs) and Dave (saturation rug cleaning, same as last year after popular demand).
From the general feedback it was a well received day out.
All the best,
Jason.

Jason.
General feedback SPOT ON its was a BRILLIANT DAY all thanks to YOU & PETE organizing all the speakers, suppliers & venu.

SO is a flexi 5 any good in the real world. I can see its merits but looks heavy and how effective would that it be over say a Sebo.
