every one keeps asking me if you can drink it or not , and is there a use by date for the water left in my tank.
ive just topped up tank in van and someone said its going to rain tomorrow so i cant use it till tuesday will it still be ok to use?..
-
of course you can use it 000tds is just that zero parts per million as for drinking it you would probably be ok for a glass full now and then but not for long term as it would strip your body of a lot of essential minerals and would most likely make you quite ill
-
so theres no use by date i was thinking air contaminates it

not really, most of the minerals we need we take from our food
-
I was told you could drink it after it has been through the RO but not once it has gone through the DI resin
-
You can drink RO water but not after DI,Merlins are used for this and they are RO`s arn`t they.
-
i know what to do ill give a cup to one of me cussys and watch what happens
-
It makes ya rust from the inside out.......................Allegedly.

we may take minerals from our food but pure water will still remove it as it does on the glass

err ok then ::)

What a sales pitch,....does pure water remove minerals from glass.. geez you live and learn.
-
.
-
I wouldnt drink it..........must be rife with legionaires disease from that van tank surely?
-
Definately melt ya insides :o
-
It dissolves your insides due to the carbonic acid it is turned into....incredibly corrosive stuff!
Cobblers of course! lol.
R/O water is fine to drink...not sure about after it has passed through deionising resin though as the actual resin is poisonous, but the truth is I haven't actually seen any scientific to either prove or disprove that it will poison the water...plenty of anecdotal rumours about it mind!!
It won't strip out any of the body's essential minerals though, it is only 0.005ppm purer than rain water at the end of the day and the moment it is in your mouth it is instantly contaminated and no longer pure anyway.
I occasionally mix in Isopropanol into the water...now that most certainly IS poisonous!!!!....though I'm told Isopropanol is really good with coke and a slice of lemon ;D ;D

Darn,
Almost forgot...the water in your tank will be fine for weeks on end, months even.

Right, I have looked into this, and pure water from DI is definitely not good for you, because it's simply not food grade resin.
Ultra pure water isn't good for you, because it does leach minerals from your body, water purification companies put minerals back into the water after it goes through their RO grid, to make it usable as drinking water. It doesn't kill you obviously, but it isn't good for you.

It would probably cause spots inside their stomach and give them the runs.

The resin from Ro-Man is food grade so where does that take the arguement?
-
water companies won't pass it as potable
-
Most people who buy RO units from Ro-man are buying them to produce filtered drinking water. But that doesn't mean you can drink it from your tank.
Your tanks are not sterile and neither are your hoses which drag across the ground in all the dog mess, bird mess, cat mess, fox mess etc.
Best not to chance it . There is a world of difference between chemically pure and sterile.
I know of a bloke who lives near me, he is 28 and contracted Vile's disease while working as a builder. He nearly died, perhap from his point of view he would have been better off if he had. He's now in a wheelchair for life, paralysed, double incontinent and depressed beyond words. He has a wife and a young family but no chance of ever getting any better than he is now.
There are some SERIOUSLY nasty bugs out there.

This is taken from wikipedia:
Drinking water purification
Around the world, household drinking water purification systems, including a reverse osmosis step, are commonly used for improving water for drinking and cooking.
The article < http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_osmosis > gives quite a lot of info about RO.

Maybey this site might help http://www.freedrinkingwater.com/water_health/health1/1-hard-soft-water-cardio-disease.htm
soft water can increase heart problems so i think I wont be drinking it
