Hi everyone
I saw the online demo for the Ashbys Ninja, the top of the range one, it looked very impressive. Can anyone give me any feedback on their experience with it. I mean the one that is 400 psi with the heater and also the thrid vacuum motor.
Apparently it gives similar performance to a baby truckmount?
Any comments on, water pressure, heat performance, vacuum and anything else?
Thanks
Justin

No experience of the one you are interested in but there is a new one out in America which I imagine will be here sometime.

About the ashbys system.
Think a few have got them on here re roger from dr carpet ???
Do like the idea of the built in steamate for really tough jobs. You will need the 2"hose vacs for it and get the extra piggy back vac motor to make it a 3 vac set up..
What about the alltec 3 vac set up with heat thats worrth a look rather than ashbys ???

Hi,
Whilsts the Ninja is a good machine and they are pretty reliable, the problem I have found Ashbys customer service/back up to be P$ZZ poor and for that reason would not buy from them.
There are plenty of posts on here regarding the Ninja and Ashbys

Take a look at Airflex from cleansmart looks a good machine designed it himself, don't think anything on his website but give him a ring he demonstrated it at the Ccdo yesterday

Got to agree with the service from them and thats why i wouldnt buy from them.
Wass going to spend over 4k afrter xmas with them but after a few phone calls and spoke to someone they put me right off.

From what I saw of it Airflex (yesterday) looks a good machine, I would make some modifications in capturing the heat from the vacuums like we used to do with Lucas fuel injector pumps.
Never had a problem with Ashby’s but can’t understand why you need two numptys for pressure. ???

How it going. :-X

Just because you buy a Ninja from Ashbys doesn't mean you have to use them to service it.
-
As Clinton says I have the 400 psi, in line heater and 3rd vac. Very pleased with it.
I have it serviced locally, which I consider a much better arrangement. It has good reliability.
The main downside is it's a very heavy configuration. Even without the 3rd vac it weighs about 11 stone.
It's powerful enough to do a house with attics without moving from the hall but can be a pain if you are working in a block of flats without a lift.

Well I bought a ninja almost 3yrs ago. Stopped using it 2yrs ago and went back to my 10 yr old Alltec Pro Plus. The Ninja i had, had all the bells and whistle i.e in-line heater. auto drain etc. But the weight on the machine and awkwardness of moving it about was just too much. Also I didnt like 1. No temp gauge 2. no hour meter and 3. Smaller capactiy solution and waster tanks than I'd been used to.
So come July August you'll find it up for sale on here after I've payed the £4000 for it.
Oh yeah and Ahbys customer service is awful. The water pump packed in on it after 7 months. They wouldnt give me another one becauce I hadnt had their 6 month service on it. I kicked and stamped my feet and they did give me a new motor in the end. And after another 6 months later this motor packed in too. They reckon the water was too hot for the pump. What a shambles !!!!!!!!!!!

A good post you have made and a good opinion.
I to was going to buy a set up from them and found the guy down there v awkward to deal with and spoke down to me so i will never buy a set up from them.
The alltec a good set up and have used them for 15 years and sold one last year and wish i had kept it ::)

I used to deal with Ashbys and did so for years, I have bought 3 Ninja's and also 3 Senseis the smaller machine as they are more manageable for flats and upholstery.
The person I think you are speaking about Clinton sounds like Martin Ashby, tighter than a ducks a##e!!
I bought a second hand Panther TM in august last year and it had some problems with it and I needed some advice,so the first person I thought of was Derek Ashby called 3 times and he did'nt even return my call and I have known him and dealt with him for 20 years. It speaks volumes does'nt it, so I would not deal with again.
As to my TM problems dear old Dave Ingram was a Godsend.

Ashbys have shot themselves in the foot by giving crap customer service and charging extortionate prices for servicing I could say a lot more but I wont .
Its a shame because I used to buy a lot of stuff off ashbys , I have 2 ninjas one with all the bells and whistles and believe me I have the vac booster 3 vac machine and now have the prowler off john kelly and this is considered a small truckmount and there is a world of difference between the power of these 2 machines.
All the best Andy Locke.

Maybe I should not have named the accused?
But if we treated our customers in a similar way, I wonder how long we would remain in business.
;)

Ashbys really need to get customer service to the top of the agenda.
Repairs are priced at ridiculous levels.
Can you guys tell me where i can get some servicing done on my ninja, in the south east area?

i have a 400psi ninja........and i love it!!!! i have found it to be a very reliable machine that has earned me a few £££££ for very little/no maintenance.
although as stated a heavy machine...... the pumps apparently dont like the water too hot 55.c :o :o
mine is restricted to55.c....with 2 valves for the pressure.....
never had a problem with ashbys service or staff........however i would say that their labour charges are HIGH..... :o

Think this thread hit a nerve pop into Dartford today Derek looked a bit peeved, will it change thing don’t think so.

have a heater len!!!!
maybe ur glasses where misted up from all your hard work!!!
-
Hope thats all it was ;D

I've been using Ashbys for about 8 years now and always found customer service very good better than Prochem .Mind you that's Dartford and not Sittingbourne.Always found Derek and Ed very helpful ,as for repair costs not a lot different from Prochem ,but the repairs are a lot quicker than prochem and more efficient .

clint
well thats all im hoping it was................len borrowed my machine......something about needing a good suck... ??? ??? ;D
should have said...i use ashbys at dartford.
during the recent cold snap i got lazy and left my machine in the van :-X :-X.......
took it to them and mentioned it was in van and it was up and running again in under 90mins....
and the fee was reasonable........
ed explained that because i was straight with him (machine left in van) it was quicker to repair.
i should say that there was another customer in the shop at the time who also left machine in van but denied it!!!! his bill was larger than mine!!
-
Chris ;D
Am trusting your judgement with that ;)
-
Lets just get the two things sorted i have found Derek great Martin very hard to talk to service NOT NEEDED ANY on my Ninja in two and a half years nothing broken now on saying that i do descal once a month clean the machine at end of every working day. My in tank heater is set at 60degrees then it passes over the heat exchanger AFTER THE PUMP so heat not a problem for the pump. As for weight am i just extremly STRONG i think not well maybe or are you all just WHIMPS mmmmm
Personally i don't find it heavy at all. NOW I'M TRUCKY ANYWAY ;D ;D ;D soooooooooon
-
I agree with Tony Gill, and will say I have no problems with Derek, he is always helpful and very willing to spend time talking,he is a very nice guy,and treats me in a way i like to be treated.
Perhaps i will travel to Dartford and speak with Ed next time.

Looks like one unhappy family, or is it arrogance think the later. Derek I may not spend a lot with you but what I spend is profit to you, I’ve got a habit of cultivating this. ;D
Chris
Great expectations :'( Glasses did misted up :o turned it into a pre-sprayer unit and used my 135psi as the sucker, ::) Wayne’s got his new machine wont let me test it but he reckons it suck well :D
Tony
You’ve had a shave. If Wayne and I knew, sold £200quid and you would have the van also
