i was amazed on a recent post that scriman can get through 55 houses a day 8)
looking at the maps he put on and his method of working
ie di only and filling up at custys houses, i reckon he s the new wfp terry burrows ;D
now if i could get 2 employees like him, that will be my retirement sorted
anyone beat 55 a day?
-
55 a day...faints ;D
-
if it was 55 3 window houses maybe, standard 3 beds 8 windows 2 doors 55 a day I need to see this as I am clearly training wrong and also I would need retraining and would be willing to pay for it
-
3 bed semi front and back takes me 20ish mins trad...even allowing 5 mins (ish) between jobs that's roughly 3 an hour times 8 = 24 houses per day...with no breaks!
And I'm not for one minute saying I do anywhere this number ::)
55? That means he's doing 7ish houses per hour...1 every 11ish minues! (assuming an 8 hour working day).
I can smell bulls poo poo here ;D

It's not a question of maps etc. windowwashers you've been in this game a long time and you know what's possible and what isn't...and you know that 55 houses a day isn't! Or more accurately it isn't possible day in day out with what most of us would call a "house".
OK if he was wfp and doing fronts only and they were all in a row then yes I could see it...but otherwise?...Nah!
-
cheers guys, i am flattered you guys are even discussing it :-X
i am doing that run again this week, anyone wanna pop over to glasgow and film me? 8)

well i think its possible
, with the right kind of work and a lot of elbow grease 8)
but i dont think i would get anywhere near that total though
-

I'd love to film it but 2 things stop me:
1. I'm in London
2. My camera doesn't have a fast enough shutter speed
If you really can do 55 houses in one day then I'm not worthy...(deep bow)!

scrimman, do you think a good part to do with cleaning that amount of houses is due to using the clampless pole
-
it has everything to do with the clampless pole joe, without it i reckon i would only get 40 odd jobs in the day. 8)
-
So even if you're doing "only 40 odd jobs in the day" that's 200 a week!
If you're doing monthly cleans you must have somewhere in the region of 800 customers...! Blimey I didn't realise that Glasgie had that many people ;D
-
i do a lot fortnightly, mmm do i detect a doubting tone in your typing? 8)
-
sorry i am only responding every half hour or so, i am through watchin ghostbusters with the kids, if you really wanna see if its do-able just come up and have a look this week ;)
-
Are you still using the spiderbeam pole Scrimmy? Mine is relegated to the shed,.. its tough, but way too heavy for me. :(
-

If by this you are asking do I think you are being economical with the truth then my answer is: Absolutely not!!!
I just know what I'm capable of doing and it's not half of what you do (and I don't consider myself the slowest w/c on earth) so I can't help but juggle numbers and wonder how..on the basis you speak truth...why am I so far behind you and where am I going wrong?
I've been doing this for 4 years now but am always ready to learn 8)
-
i honestly dont see why there is so much doubt :-\

if he can knock out that amount of work, all credit to him
wish i was closer

im driving to elgin from yorkshire next week, scrimman. dont think the misses will let me do a detour.... ;) i'd have got the butties in ;D would have liked to see the technique for a clampless pole with a spam&egg in the other ;D
-

still got it Nat, but i have taken the two biggest sections off, and now have a superb 24 foot clampless...best piece of kit i have ever used ( skyblue etc dont last anywhere near as long as the spiderbeam).
i found the work over 24 foot was difficult on my elbows with it when the two sections were still on, so i just resort to my mavers for that.
anyway if you guys wanna have a look then you should come along and watch me work ( i aint blowing my trumpet, just stating the facts)
no point saying i can do it if in fact i cant as someone is sure to come along and prove me wrong.....so who wants to be that someone? 8)

Why would anyone want to do 55 houses a day,if your having to do 55 houses a day you need to seriously re think your round -business.I wouldn`t bragg about having to cleaning that many houses a day.
-
scrimman do you wfp the glass and leave out the frames,
-
joe, i do the frames and the glass, but not the top frame as it has the dreaded vent 8)
spiderbeam, a telescopic clampless pole that reaches over 30 ft adapted.

You`d be better off bragging about doing 6-7 houses a day.
-
what, you serously think i should cheat mr taxman :o
-
i love the new houses with the hooded vents no water gets into them, makes the job so much easier, wish they where all like that
-
me too, pity i only have that estate every 2 weeks, i would be rollin in it if i could do it every day, alas the rest of my work is a bit harder than those ones :'(
-

where you say hooded vent do you mean the ones that have a bend over vent, if so they drain down if you watch, vents are a pain in bum bum imo, I think they should have the vent above the window and frame, they never think of us window cleaners >:(
-
those types of houses are doddle ...very quick ....like scrimman said, he only does this run once a fortnight,,,, so i know its possible ...., just like 10 large houses is possible.... ;D
its alot of collecting time though :-\ och aye scrimman.
-
55! BS! thats £500 ADAY! BS!
-
55! BS! thats £500 ADAY! BS!
errr... no its not, and if it were , why would that be bs??
-
i think you reckon i am on roughly a tenner a house, but alas it aint so, i wish i could, boy that would be great, not 3 quid a house true but certainly not a tenner 8)
as i have said before rather than coming on here and saying it CANT be done why not pop up to glasgow for a day (whenever i am doing that run) and see for yourself...i am going to be there this morning if anyone is in the area pop along i dont have anything to hide......just come and look ( would i be saying that if i couldnt do it?)
8)
-
im setting off now... see u at 5pm. :o lol

the houses are similar to that yeah, maybe a bit bigger. 8)
-
very strange...you have posted a pic very similar to where my brother lives in glasgow...it looks like his house on the left...i suppose these houses are built all over the UK. 8)
-
yeah youll find propertys like this every where but you wont find many on my round.
-
why not? :o
-
because there in areas i dont cover, majority of my work is like these
-
got it, i just thought these houses were too small for you lol......anyways i do some houses like that one, i get 20 quid without the conservatory, and it takes around 20 mins to do 8)
-
hi scriman
looks like ive started something here mate ;D
sorry ;)
-
not at all mike, i enjoy this kind of thing, reminds me of my time at the inter-school debating sessions i used to take part in.....i rarely lost those also....there was one guy though who would run rings round me....i think he took up window cleaning or something....mmm i wonder.....is he on here? :-X

For what it's worth, I do believe you. It would need to be extremely compact though with small houses and without access hassles or chatty custies.
