Title: Van recommended for 1000l System
Post by: simbag on April 02, 2009, 11:26:57 pm
Hi all,

Question for anyone using or has experience of a 1000l system. What van would you recommend?

I'm thinking payload would need to be minimum of 1400kg. Been looking at Ldv Maxus, VW crafter, and the renault/vauxhall/nissan of the same size. Anyone got any suggestions, or even vans to avoid?

Thanks, Simon

i have a 1000 litre system and am just in the middle of fitting the new van out,

i had the same dilemma of which van, i would defo swerve the ldv maxus, a friend of mine runs a large logistics frim, home del network( white arrow ) they had a fleet of 60 ldvs and were always going wrong

the transits bend diffs on rwd and blow gearboxs on fwd, so i avoided them

The crafter and sprinter are the same van, have heard bad reports on them

I used to work for a window cleaning firm for 5 years and they ran renault masters there were a couple of small problems but nothing major and they got a hammering, so i ended up getting one ,55 plate, mwb m/r, 3.0 140bhp with 50k miles for £5900

my 1st choice was the vw transporter, but they only take 1340kg which ok for a 900 litre tank but borderline for 1000 litre

if i had a bigger budget and didnt have the gutter-vac equipment to carry round as well i would have a transporter t32 with the 900 litre tank ;)

I run a mwb transit which easily manages the load.
