Pressure wash block paving.
If you used a lance wouldn't that blast all the sand out??

Yes and no.
Do it right and it will not take too much (what it does take will be replaced when you resand) but do it wrong and never mind just sand it will lift blocks out and destroy the bedding layer.
I am guessing that you haven't yet cleaned block paving but are thinking about it?

My own actually first.

Good strategy:-)
Start on a lower pressure to get the feel of things.
Keep the lance at a distance of around 10 inches and at an angle of around 45 degrees.
As you get the feel increase the pressure and go nearer as required (lichens etc.). Do not blast at the joints or you run the risk of lifting blocks.
I'd suggest a wide fan nozzle to begin with but as you get better switch to a turbo nozzle, but take real care as used incorrectly you'll have big problems (as with all things start steady and build up).
If you can get your hands on a good quality rotary then do; Whirlaway or Mosmatic are best but be sure you PW has the pressure required.

Thanks for that Ian.
I only ask because I looked on a pressure washing firms website and it said "you wouldn't use a lance to clean block paving would you"
